Ok so its slightly more of a task than your normal cell phone
But I agree it does make the phone WAY more sexy

Why would making the battary be not sexy? I like the idea of opening up and seeing the inside anything sexy. You get not just aroused but satisfied that way.

I use my 3GS on T-Mo so 3g isn't an issue, but over the weekend I got about 5 hours of usage and 1 day, 13 hours standby with wifi on, Bluetooth on, screen at about 50% brightness before I had the 20% warning so 36 hours is very believable to me (I got 37 hours ). +1 to Melech.Apples taste good.

The iPhone has the best battery life of any smart phone, and people still complain! but also forget that the iPhone does things 10 times faster than any other phone. So you can get alot more done with it. I consistently get 4 hours usage and 17-18 hours standby, daily. Now if Im on the damn internet or sending pics and videos all day long it only lasts a few hours. Its a powerful phone and the battery life is awesome, it just depends on what you use it for. People that monitor the battery life are constantly looking at how much battery they have left. I run mine dead a few times a week and full charge it all night. I go 2-3 hours in the morning on standby still at 100% battery. I run on the treadmill in the morning on Airplane mode, Im still at 100% battery after 45 minutes with my iPod running the whole time.Lime

The battery life complain is a legitimate complain. We should not have to turn off anything just to make it last through the day. Now, it is a fact that you need to drag alone a power cable and keep looking for power source if you want to use it without restriction throughout the day. This should not be the case.
Solution: Since battery technology is beyond Apple's control, the only sensible thing to do is to make it user replaceable. I know some of us use the bulky battary extender to solve the problem but I much prefer to keep the original phone size.
If the study cited is genuinely wanting to improve user experience, we should sincerely listen to users' voices here - and it is loud and clear - that we need more power. There is no need to defend Apple or put the blame on user's usage habbit.

well we all know that apple doesnt normally listen to the what its users want. about the deleting processes odnt you have to be jailbroken to do that? if so not everyone is jailbroken so what about everyone else who complains aobut the battery?

Yes you need to at least have openssh installed. But most people who do not jailbreak their phones arent complaining as much, notice I said as much, as the users who do. I find that the BIGGEST cause of battery issues are due to jailbreaking incorrectly and restoring from a backup.

Kinda obvious... i mean who wouldn't want more power no matter what phone you have. I would love to have in phone that will last a week with really heavy use like 1000 texts 200 minuites of talk and whatever else you want for a week.
I heard someone talking saying that with all the developments they are making for hybrid cars, small versions batteries should be coming forward. Not sure how accurate that is but it sounds cool
