LOL. Once I started the day with 14% battery at 6am. I used it as I always did (some texts, some calls, some games, a little GPS) but with brightness all the way down, bluetooth, wifi, locations, etc. off.
By the end of the day (I mean like 10-11pm) I was still at 5%.

It would be nice to have better battery life, but if you have the right settings you can get the iPhone to last a while!

Man please make a thread with a list of these unnecessary daemons to delete please! I am honestly struggling to believe that under normal use conditions you get 36 hours out of your 3GS. That's why i had to reply to your statement.

To get those battery times we must be talking brighteness down, wifi off, 3g off, bluetooth off, killing processes + freeing memory every once in a while and keeping your phone locked 90% of the time. I cant see much watching slingbox or listening to last.fm with those battery times.....

Youre right, I am constantly clearing processes , my wifi is on but bluetooth, 3g, push are all off. I never watch video on my 3gs...

And also...this is a first for me. My battery would never last longer than a few hours up until like 3 days ago when I had to restore my phone a few times.

    @Blkcadi- Thanks love

Ahhh i knew about the language pack stuff but havent been around lately, missed that daemon post.

I have found on the 3Gs that even with just push + 3g off and screen brightness low the battery lasts CONSIDERABLY longer, but still not 36 hours for me. I use my phone allot differently to you though i guess.

Now i can see how its done i am happy Posts with statements like that just make me a bit curious, thanks for the help.

I love everything about my iphone except the stupid with a capital s battery design.
Apple what is the problem of allowing us to change the battery, if you are a road warrior the" just plug in and charge" doesn't get it.
Is this another one of those secret AT&T deals to keep us from using the network too much ?

Although I wouldn't mind longer battery life, I can;t say I am really every in a situation where I NEED to charge. By the end of a typical 8 hour day I am down between 30-40% battery, which includes anywhere from 3-45 minutes phone call, 1-2 hours web browsing, looking over email 10-20 times, maybe an hour of some game, and a handful of texts. Now obviously I don't do this EVERY day, and it can vary, but the only times I got below 20% I was using it almost non-stop. Are people really using their phones that much more than me? I feel like that already is a lot of use.

I need more power that is for sure! Its nothing for me to charge my phone several times a day here.... especially when others play games on it all day etc.. etc... I also talk about 4,000 or more minutes a month... I bought it to use it and I do... LOL but need more power!

Don't you hate the fact that whenever someone sees an iPhone they HAVE to play with it?
I had to delete a lot of apps just because I got tired of people constantly playing with my phone.

More power is a must but more importantly I want to be able to swap in spare battaries during the day. I normally require two to three full charge per day, so I like to carry two more slim battaries with me. That was what I did when using my HTC Touch HD, so would love to have the same swapping capabilities with iPhone.

its not apples fault, its the companies that produce batteries, there's a lack of study into new battery technology. batteries just can't catch up to the growing technology being put into smaller and smaller things. if anything, i want more speed, more speed and more power!

It is dumb for Apple to design its phone with fixed battery though. It should be removable.

Why should it be unremovable? Why? Why? Why?

Because if it was removable the iPhone wouldn't be as sexy.

    It is removable.

    After almost complete disassembly

Actually I can replace an iphone 3g/3gs battery in like 10 minutes.
