You're just a copilot fanboy.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

This is true - which is why I beta test for them and work with them to make it the best SatNav solutionHe who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

after using Navigon and TomTom to get to work as a test run I have decided that right now Navigon wins hands down. Navigon has lane assist and better graphics. The 2 things i dont like about navigon is that it does not pause the music when giving out directions and that the street names are very hard to read. Tomtom does not have lane assist and got lost twice on the highway(THE HIGHWAY!!!!) but the worst thing about TomTom for me is that it tells me directions AFTER I make turns
- better graphics
- lane assist(big plus since i want to use it to travel to Dallas soon)
- does not pause music when giving out directions
- street names are extremely hard to read

Flickr: NAVIGON_'s Photostream.
But i actually really like that it doesnt pause music to give out directions. I dunno why you would want your music to be interrupted. My lexus factory gps just puts the nav out through the left side and the music out the right side speakers.
I mean think about how many voice directions it gives you.

I tried both Navigon and TomTom, and I ended up deleting TomTom. Navigons routes were alot better and accurate, and it looks better.

I bought Navigon and used it on a trip I just got back from.. Michigan to Oaklahoma... I was more than surprised how well it worked... however with long straight highways that are 80 miles long before a turn I found that Navigon did stop working at times then I had to close it and open it.... also I found that at times it would not be able to pick up gps signals here and there....
I am really happy with my purchase... it will take a lot before one of these other companies beat Navigon...

Why no XGPS write up?This is getting a lil' ridiculous...

Because it's not an official appI always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

xGPS was great back in 2.x but now it would get an F compared to the app store ones

tom tom taking a while to get used to i might have to try navigon based on the consensus on this thread
08-28-2009, 08:28 PM #38
yea, navigon is the best one and after the next update, it will be undisputed.

The kit pictured isn't the TomTom kit(no connector to use external speaker on the one pictured), I think its made by Belkin and you can find it in some higher end electronics store. I just recently read that the TomTom kit is going to be $200. I also go with Navigon!!!
