Wow, $100. People could just go out and get a GPS. Or they can get one of those folded maps for $2.

Not to be a ****, or a the old guy who wants to seem like he knows everything, but $100 is a fair price. Especially since I paid like $70 for Navigon, which only works 60% of the time... For those who actually use GPS for something besides looking cool, then this is the way to go.

I am a promotional manager for a nightclub and I always need to get to where I'm going quickly for meetings, pick up artist, find sponsors, etc. Turn by turn is great, you cant beat it, cool. My problem comes when the Maps app is way of and there are no POIs to reference, is only good for basic routes, etc. Or if I want to make a run for a quick lunch, but dont know where anything is...

Yes, a fulltime GPS can be bought for $100. That is understood. But so can a cellphone. And also an iPod. And also a digital camera. And also a palm PDA. But most of us have paid $100s for an iPhone for the convenience of having just 1 device, right or wrong? Well, at least those of us that didnt get one from mommy and daddy...

Plus has anyone even owned a real GPS and had it stolen from you? Sucks right? Well very few people actually leave your phone in the car, and this is the GPS that if you lose it, you get it again from the appstore free of charge.

And for those bragging about being jailbroken, I'm jailbroken too, but I am just looking for Backgrounder for 3.0 to come out so that this app will load quicker, and I think that should be the only reason JBing should come up in this thread, not to show how much of a thief I can be with IPAs.

^ I love xGPS, I used it for a year. However you can see a huge difference between it and navigon. I haven't tried TomTom yet but my friend is going to buy it so I will check it out in a few hours.

I have two complaits about navigon. One is the street names are hard to see and they need to work on the POI displays. If they make the arrow into a tank like iGo that would be cool too

I agree, my only other complaint is that I wish the Autozoom would zoom in a bit more before a turn instruction. Still, Navigon is the best GPS Navigation software in the AppStore and it has the best User Interface UI.

I never liked TomTom's because of their maps (TeleAtlas). They are not as accurate as Navteq maps. Navigon uses Navteq maps! I'm selling my highend Garmin Nuvi 760. It is about consolidation. Who wants to carrying around an iPod, phone, GPS device, not me!

I wouldn't pay anywhere near that, nor would I pay more than about $15.00 for an application without a free trial first, Apple needs to get it through their heads that we need free trials.

I have also found that xGPS works just fine, and it's price is right.

My Eclipse Navi in my car handles my bizness if I need it, but if I ever need to walk around in a circle with GPS, this is the ONE1 for me.
