Simple Revenue?
As a developer my first concern is how do my customers give away their money. With the App Store its with in iTunes, where they already buy music, movies, and shows. Their credit numbers are locked in and ready to to be charged with the click of a button.
When it comes to Cydia, it seems so thrown together and 3rd party generated, that as a customer I would not want to give my credit information to this app. I like having the ability to access my files on my iPhone via SSH, but with jailbreaks come much more opportunity for everyone to have a phone that can circumvent DRM and get warez copies of software.
So in conclusion, I'm glad that jailbreaking and installing cydia is not "too" simple and keeps the number of users that only have the option, and "satisfaction" of buying the apps they want from a DRM source they can trust.

I like Rock Your Phone Nice apps with good interface I've spent about $30.00 on six apps and it was cash well spent. I don't buy from Cydia because I can't be bothered setting up the payment method, why can't they have PayPal!!!

Personally, i wouldn't let RYP near my phone!
I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

Personally I think the Apple appstore is full of crap, I'm probably wrong but I can't see the wood for the trees.
Have you tried
Rock Your Phone
Or is the guy in the sunglasses the guy going out with your sister?

I am just glad to see that Cydia has made a wide statement in growing out to be much bigger than appstore. I would love to get anything that cydia has to offer.

In my opinion the Appstore is WAY to cluttered and the method used to sort the apps isn't worth a d@mn. Hell you have to search through 3,000 worthless apps to find one app worth downloading.
I remember when the Appstore first launched it was decent and not too hard to find what you were looking for but there wasn't 60,000 apps back then either. The problem is that their still using the same method to search through 60,000 apps as they did for 5,000 and it just isn't working.160GB iPod Classic

I believe Appstore is way over cluttered and hard to navigate for items that you have no clue what you looking for (i.e. looking for a new app to play with or a new game). I also think its great to see devs start looking at Cydia as an another place for their apps, not nearly as over crowded with nonsense that you just end deleting after a few hours of toying with it. Apple is just trying to be be so overly controlled of thier stuff it isn't even funny and I will by an app from Cydia over Appstore any day.
