On a side note my GF has gotten an open square and open triangle symbol before as a text message. It wasnt sent by anyone and could not reply to it either. This has happened a few times over the last few months.

....(i so hope I dont hav to go to "genius" bar)
Though...this is pretty interesting, as like someone had said, if the researchers know how to do this, then y r they taking a risk of showing the whole wrld bout it and "teaching" them 2 do it...so wut then all iphones can be controlled by some hacker?!

^^ Hold home+power until it reboots. If it's still stuck there then hold home+power until it shuts down then go into DFU mode & Restore.

I wrapped my phone in aluminum foil, hope that stops it. I know it is a different type SMS than the normal SMS messages so couldn't we configure it to send these commands to say /dev/null? I really haven't looked into this but it really doesn't bother me. I can see this being used as a dos attack, could u imagine a million iPhones bringing down a major network? That's crazy.
