Thread: Winterboard slowing you down? Enter Bosspaper!

  1. #41
This by far one of the best theme mods I've done to my phone. Easy setup and interface.

Sitting here watching my wallpaper fade to a different one every 5sec's looks great, well with the 'macro' strip themed wallpaper I think its great!!

I'll watch with anticipation for updates and better tweaks.

    Thanks

    Default Love it
    I love this.

for those that can not find it, seach for "bigbossbetarepo." Load that and then do a search for "BossPaper."

    Hope this helps!

go back and find the post on how to get it.

simply go to cydia settings and select hacker then search for bossbetarepo

then you will be able to find it.

I'll try it this weekend. One thing I would change is the name. I would've called it BossBoard.

I would kill for the ability to be able to change the lockscreen wallpaper, and the springboard wallpaper...independently.

In cydia, goto Manage, click on settings. Choose "Developer" no filters.

No you should see the "bigbossbetarepo".

In stall that, then you should see BossPaper.

    Good luck.

"2) Theme Icons - Status Closed. Icon theming is out of scope and makes bosspaper become a full winterboard replacement. I may, however, create something that allows for a pick-and-choose for various winterboard themes (this is on my todo list)."

I would love to see a WB competitor. Especially if it makes my phone faster. But I guess I gotta wait since BigBoss will not implement icon themes.

Did that. Result? Nothing. Is there a specific location that I do the search from? I go to manage, select Developer, go to search, and search every possibility with no avail. If possible, maybe a complete NOOB step by every single step? Cause I'm lost.

Try changing to Hacker instead of Developer.

Now for those who want to use your own pictures (say you have a folder full of iPhone wallpapers), but it's only working from the 'Camera Roll', well here's how you do it.

This is tested and works on my phone.
    1) Using CyberDuck (Mac), or WinSCP (Windows) SSH onto the phone.
    2) Go to the root folder ('/')
    3) Go to: Private/var/mobile/media/DCIM/100Apple (this is the Camera Roll Folder)
    4) Copy all your wallpapers to this folder
    5) Go to 'BossPaper' and browse folders
    6) Go to Media/DCIM and add the folder '100Apple'.

That's it. You will be able to use all your photos. (You will notice the camera roll doesn't show your photos, that's because iTunes usually makes a thumbnail and didn't get the chance in this case)

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the tip ...I created a directory/folder inside of the '100APPLE' folder and then just copied the wallpapers into it that I wanted..this works great! This way I don't have to use the photos on my camera roll..thanks to bigboss as well..cheers
