Most people above the age of about 12 do not use cracked apps.
Certainly no one I know is a thief! He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

I'm here to announce that I have again just spent $70 on Navigon, when I already have Sygic which I paid $80. Do I need both? Nah. I need only one. The trouble is, how do I know which one I like more without buying it under the current system? Unfortunately, I'm allowing the software developers to make a sucker out of me all the time because we can't try it out!
Personally, I always look for the very best software available, and would not hesitate a change the moment I see something better. Unfortunately, a reasonabe period of hands-on usage is the only way to properly evaluate these software.
Hope to control myself and not buy iGO, TomTom, Garmin and Copilot when they're out. LOL.

Yep ... we've all been there -- done that. Spent far too much money on worthless unused software.
There's really no good solution (JMHO), because the software packages that 'time-out' or expire have so much anti-piracy junk built-in that they become cumbersome, bloated and inefficient. Symantec is the perfect example

Apple won't allow you to buy an app and get your money back due to abuse so we do need a solution to the current issue of previewing apps. I agree with that part of the argument, but I think it could be solved easily if they'd simply include a video of the app in action in the app store then you'll see exactly what it is and how it works, no lite versions, no demos.

I think that you should be able to download it and use it for 6 months. Then after using the app if you liked it then you pay. LMAO

I just like to report that the $70 that I spent last night on Navigon is completely wasted. The map data and functionalities are so poor that I would not touch it with a pole, despite the first class UI. The actual functions and features is not what's being advertised in the description.
So you tell me, is it fair for me to have spent that money just to find this out? Sorry, I'm still feeling angry over this.
How can we seriously blame people for using hacked software to do trials?

I've already tried xGPS. I know it is free, but it does not cut it at all in my view. I'm not really after free software. Bad software, free or paid, are rubbish that just occupies my precious storage space. I don't mind paying for good software, but far too often the software that I paid for turn out to be rubbish.
I think we should now go back to the topic. It would be a sad day to lose the ability to try out software. Very sad day indeed. I'm all for a version of the firmware and Applestore that allows for a time limiting trials for all software. We're not talking about ridiculous time frame like 6 month people. Say just 7 or even 3 days. In the absence of that, I have no choice but to have to voice support for alternative means of getting a trial.

Well since there is 13 pages of no one discussing the "hidden features of 3.1" I am starting a new thread to move this app discussion here: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/apple-a...ml#post4895584
Please lets leave this thread to discussing 3.1

WOW...spent 45min reading this thread…moving on.…isn't it true that 3.1 will have an API for the video editing feature so other apps can use it?

Is this "video editing" API limited only to cutting off the front and back of a video and overriding the original with the shortened file?

Good idea bro
