Ultrasn0w 0.9 Released

Via iPhone Dev Team Blog:
ultrasn0w version 0.9 is out! We believe it solves pretty much all of the various random issues that have been reported. Its features include:
* Works on both 3G and 3GS
* Works on hacktivated devices
* Works regardless of how you jailbroke your device
* Doesn’t patch any mach-o binary whatsoever. (Doesn’t require a separate patch as each new firmware comes out).
* Doesn’t install any additional daemon
* Has no race conditions, no popups about “Missing SIM”, no network issues
* Is almost 7000 times smaller than its nearest competition
[Geohot fixed this in purplesn0w RC2]
* Is available now via Cydia. Source repo is ultrasn0w.com (that last “0” in ultrasn0w is a zero!)
It is recommended that everyone update to this new version

Competition is always good indeed. I never doubted the Dev. Team. Been using them since the beginning. Both Dev. Team. and Geohot are talented individuals... Wouldn't it be nice if they "joined"? hehe.. No more going back and forth... and first of "good stuff" from the getco...
I can now buy my 3G[S]... after buying my new iMac first
Don't live by other people's rules... Live by your OWN!!!
Why settle for less if you can have sooo much more!!!

^great news.
In my opinion Twitter has made the difference. It has open a new line of communications with all that are tied together in this quest to hack.
As our friend "Neo" here on the forums so eloquently put it "sticking it to the man" gotta love it.

they used to work together.. i doubt it would work again
I think the dev team needs to take the offense.. every time the dev team release something, geo hot releases something better...
Even when geohot released his 2 minute jailbreak... the dev team took an extra day or two, and their jailbreak was long and old school...
If i had a at&t card i'd give purplerain a try, but then again my phone has been working great since ultrasnow .7
I give props to the dev team for one thing... adding support for those who used purplerain... geohot has no support for those on redsn0w, but the devteam were nice enough to include purplerain in their ultrasnow release..
This type of work is the reason why i will continue to use the dev team products... they are just a better group.

It all depends on how you look at it. Everyone has a different opinion and has made that quite clear. This thread shouldn't be turned into another one of "those" threads and you all know what I mean by "those."
No offense though to Babyblue_pimp. I'm just saying but hey whatever floats yall's boats you know.

yeah agreed, someone should make a dedicated purple vs ultra, just for people to put in their opinions and/or experiences with the two...
but since this is about ultra, I install .9, and it runs PERFECT... no complains at all, i haven't noticed anything different with the battery, but wifi no longer requires a random network reset and i can finally not worry about having to retype in my ridiculous 26 character hex key

Someone needs to make a thread titled "One of those threads"

Thanks Geniuses for this release.
I have jailbroken iphone 3G, updated to OS 3.0 but had network issues. I consistently get the annoying No SIM, and Searching popups. After installing ultrasnow through wifi, I have successfully removed the annoying messages BUT I STILL DO NOT HAVE NO SIGNAL. I can't make or receive phone calls. I simply have an expensive ipod touch!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!

This is good that both are going back and forth IMO. Props to geohotz, If it wasn't from geo we would have being waiting for Dev team with their jailbreak and unlock for a reason that didn't made sense to me at all.

Keep the pressure on GEO!!!!Last edited by V.A.M.P; 07-16-2009 at 12:24 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Had a wifi issue when going from rc2 to ultrasn0w. Data didn't register. I didn't give it much time though so I went back to rcs2. Anyone else have this issue?
