How do you guys attach other people's threads in your replies? (too lazy to scroll below this box and figure it out atm haha)

Anyways are you guys really getting ultrasn0w to work for you? I follow all the procedures
* Restore with legit ATT simcard and plan
*Activate (legit)
*Purplera1n
*Ultran0w
*Then change sims reboot
*Airplane ON
*Reboot
*Airplane OFF

And my results are well...crap, the sim looses signal all the time when I try to make a call it rarely works stating that there is not network, I even get the "Invalid SIM" o show up one in a while. I've tried this process 3 times already with the same results.

(I turn off 3G)-seems to help but nothing significant

Anyways my 2G redsn0w'd works fine completely different results the the 3GS

When is it possible that the DEv's will release some info about this?

had the same problem but wifi stopped working , restored like 6 times and jailbroke and the used ultrasnow . I think ultrasn0w is the problem cos thats when it goes mad.

The way round it i found is to keep reinstalling ultrasnow which i did about 5 times before everything started to work again . Used it all day today without any gliches mind you not insatlled anything else cos that does funny things too. Tried winterboard ( which evryone knows about) tried 5 dock and openssh to delete freeze which worked but then stopped my wifi.

Its working now so im happy but scared to install anything else at the moment

i used the mac JB and ultrasn0w unlock, and yes, it's a touch buggy but i'm also using my original supersim from my very first unlock on the first phone. it's flawless on a 2g but just slightly on a 3 but after removing the sim and resetting the network settings all is well. also, i wasn't going to do this until the dev team release due to the winterboard app (my fav app) but i took an hour and themed via ssh. basic but effective until winterboard is released

oh, i couldn't find where the settings app was so that was the only icon i didn't chnage but as you can see reflective dock works fine. the actual dock substitution works fine. and all the native apps work fine with the bastardized icons.

where is that settings icon located?

DEV won't be releasing until 3.0.1 cause they don't want apple patching the exploit. but don't know if george ra1ned on their parade by releasing it early. (pun intended)

There is no 3.0.1, but there is a 3.1....get with the picture!

Try this if your'e on 2G. There are other instructions somewhere on that site for 3G models as well.

The application for theming on the iPhone is Winterboard. Currently it doesn't work with 3.0, but from following Geohot and Saurik (the creator)'s Twitter accounts it looks like an upgrade is close to being completed so we can use it on 3.0.

If you have fw3.1 (beta?) installed, I think you may have locked yourself out of unlocking.

Yup. 3.1 changes everything. Baseband upgrade means restoring will not do anything for you. Congrats on not listening to the community warning you against upgrading to 3.1.

That's actually inaccurate. Winterboard works great on 3.0. It's the 3GS that it has problems on.

this would be great but the vm_map patch still does not play too nicely with the phone. it has been said to cause wifi crashing and all sorts of other issues.

EDIT: yeah sry a little late... i didnt read any of the posts before i said that. anyway... its better to wait for dev team releases because they do in fact work it through until it is 90% functional.

I got the 3g-s last week (didn't JB). Now i downloaded a few games (assain creed, fieldrunners...) and i got this message for all games i synced to my iphone:


So i thought the games not support for firmware 3.0 but then i downloaded the game "Castle" (3.0 compatible) and still get that problem o.O
I guess i need to jailbreak my iphone (but the games is from appstore) or using somthing call SSH???

That would be piracy, downloading these games (apps) from forums and trying to install it through ssh or whatever method you have used. modmyi.com does not encourage piracy obviously, kindly take down your post and find a more like minded group to discuss your problems with.
