Just install "Poof" from Cydia and hide the Freeze icon. That's what I did.

I got the jailbreak working on mac, everything went fine, installed cydia, installed ultrasnow, i get the t-mobile logo, and full signal, when i try to make a call it sits there for several seconds and then the signal bars drop to nothing and it says call failed. when trying to call the iphone, i pick up the call and answer but it still ringing on the callers side, and wont let me pick up the call. so its definately needs to be fine tuned a little more, its not usable as a phone at this point. anyone know if this is a jailbreak issue or an ultrasnow issue? ive rebooted several times with the same result.

All of my calls function normally on my 3GS. No problems at all. Wifi even works normally. I am able to make and receive phone calls and I have mostly a full bar at all times. Sometimes the bars do go up and down but not to the point where I am unable to use the phone.

From all the other posts and info I can gather.... it appears there are some Kernel patches missing in GeoHot's JB required to run Mobile Substrate apps (tricker3g / voipover3g) which are causing errors like skype crashing and app store crashing once installed. Our only hope right now is either the Kernel patches come out, or the Dev Team's JB (which will more then likely already include these patches). Hope this helps.

Is the "WinterBoard not working" an issue with the way the phone is being jailbroken or it just a 3gs issue that WinterBoard needs to be updated to work with 3gs ?

installation quick and painless for me. couldn't be easier. didn't have itunes running when i launched purple, it took about 3 minutes to update my iphone. most of that was waiting for it to enter restore mode. after it's done, reboot or power off/on your iphone and cydia will be there. let cydia update, and all is well.
as everyone says. not every app is updated for 3.0 yet, including winterboard. so don't use it! sheesh.

I love that app. Its updated for 3.0 too. I wonder what the issue is.
