AptBackup causes a crash into Safe Mode.

How could you possible use a theme without Winterboard? There is a thread on what works/doesn't work.

You asked for it, and we delivered. I'm not a mac coder, so AriX and westbaer stepped up to do it. Check out AriX's blog here. Download link on purplera1n.com, and thank AriX and westbaer next time you see them!

Also, some more payload stability improvements were made, and the windows version was updated to RC2a. There is no reason to run RC2a if you already have RC2 installed.

Mac release is out; also rc2a but as said no need for rc2 people to rerun.

i just jailbroke with the mac version and damn did that go smooth. i wish all jailbreaks were this easy. i didnt even have to restore my phone afterwards i just let it do its thing. i had cydia installed and finished in under 5 minutes. hope it works the same for everyone else. dont forget to reboot after you run freeze thats how i got cydia to show up.

He also said that he made stability improvements to the Windblowz version. I'm assuming that means he did not make those changes to the OS X version seeing as he didn't code that version. It could be a headache for you.

I just got done jailbreakin my 3gs with Purplera1n's Mac version and it worked PERFECTLY! Not one issue. Cydia is now installed and I am downloading Ultrasn0w now. Hope this works perfectly too. I'll let you know...

hey quick question guys,
if i wanted to put my phone back to original settings (un-jailbreak it, i.e. bring it back to stock) how do I do this?

do I just restore it in itunes like normal?
I just want to be super clear about this because i only hacked my iPhone 1G.

Ye you just simply plug your phone in and click restore. Back to stock as before.

Thanks to 2 or 3 of you for explaining my previous post. If the dev-teams jailbreak drops and then the winterboard fix for the 3GS magically appears in cydia then i will be dissapointed in the dev-team. Very childish.

And no issues with the mac version so far?

Actually according to saurik, purplera1n is lacking a couple of critical patches that winterboard requires. So I believe geohot would have to include this in the next release. I don't think there's anything saurik can do.

The latest purplera1n release said he fixed them and now it is up saurik to fix. The last tweet from saurik was before rc2 of purplera1n, where fixed the issues.

thanks bro! appreciate it. i know thats kind of a stupid question but ive made a few stupid mistakes before and didnt want to make them again.

hey another question, when I jailbreak it, is there any further need to have freeze there or can i just delete it with cydelete? (will i ever need "Freeze" again)
