Same issue here guys tmobile signal off and on constantly,also when the tmobile signal goes the wifi goes away to =/

I have a Question When people are purple raining and Ultrasn0wing there devices are they leaving the sim card that they want to use in the phone or another sim?

Every phone JB/Unlock this is what i do..

Put/Leave carrier network card that came with phone in it

Pwng or restore n quick pwng or in this case PurpleRa1n

Go into Cydia upgrade the essentials then put in the devteams Ultrasn0w source

Ultrasn0w it...

After that depending on your carrier if its got 3g or not turn the 3g switch on or off

take out sim insert your preferred sim..

Reboot phone..

At first my phone was giving me the dropped network and losing wifi but after bout a half hour it worked itself out and has been fine since... I PurpleRa1n on friday nite and PurpleRa1n Rc2 right over purplera1n on saturday afternoon... Everything is working smoothly on my phone installed compatible cydia apps to 3G(s) and its been great... I am in Bermuda and used my M3 3G sim card and my Digicel Bermuda 2G Sim........

Sum apps like qtweeter where getting stuck on the RESTART SPRINGBOARD but i jus did a soft reset (Home & Power Button for 10 secs) and the phone restarted and automatcally crashed to SAFEMODE so i just went back into cydia and uninstalled it...

Im not saying this is gonna work for everybody but this is what works for me... Try it and see if it works for you..................

I'll wait for the dev team to release something and make a call from there. They've never let me down in the past. I'm banking on them releasing some tidy, easy to use software for Mac AND PC.

It is hard to make a more simple jailbreak than purplera1n. Unless it freezes you literally can't muck it up.

All of the different Themes and customization options through Winterboard is one of the main reasons why people want the jailbreak. Not everyone cares for Winterboard but to say it is petty just because it doesn't work with Purplera1n is plain stupid!

I got laughed at and flamed for saying that. But, it turns out this is exactly what happened:

Normally I don't make tools for the general public, and rather wait for the dev team to do it. But guys, whats up with waiting until 3.1? That isn't how the game is played. We release, Apple fixes, we find new holes. It isn't worth waiting because you might have the "last" hole in the iPhone. What last hole...this isn't golf. I'll find a new one next week.

I don't understand what on earth they thought would be helped by waiting for 3.1 when they were ostensibly sitting on a working release that people could have used and then just not upgraded, just as a lot of us could have used the 3.0 JB after the GM came out and we knew that the launch day build would be identical.

I don't know why they are getting so paranoid and timid, but it's not becoming of hackers and of coding in general. There's a reason none of us are using MS-DOS anymore. It marches on and new people come to the fore. Which bums me out because the devteam's stuff has always been of higher quality.

I think that's the question that the JB community should be pondering right now: what is going on to make them feel that way? I could speculate, but that would be a bad idea.

Anyway, flame on for this iconoclasm, but to me it is an interesting turn of events.

I am not ready to assume he won't work on it before the devteam does the jailbreak. That would be such a **** move. Who gives a **** whether the devteam released it. The jailbreak is out. Lets move the on with the rest of it. Im hoping he just had a nice 4th of july and this is not true.

So finally after about twenty restores on my computer I gave my girlfriends vista laptop a try and got the jailbreak to work. Was so frustrating but worked perfectly first try on A different pc.

However now I have an issue with AppStore on my phone. When I click it to update or download it shows it's registered to a different email that isn't even real. And prompts for a password. When I go into settings and account there it shows my real account info but just in AppStore it's messed up. Any suggestions? I'm not sure when this was affected. I did the jb then loaded some stuff from Cydia.

All people can do is complain that it doesn't work 100% or it wasn't a Dev Team release. Everybody was ******** for it and Geohot got it out. It might be a struggle to use for some and it may not. The point is that we have it and be thankful.

Regarding the other stuff @sj660 and just in general. I work in IT....and obviously as evidenced by microsofts constant bug fix releases etc. for their OS it is no easy task to make a tool for everyone to use because of the complexities over every persons' software/OS infrastructure. (This is why you cant build a MAC with any old parts and have the MAC OS accept it.) The reason, I'm assuming, why most of the dev teams release appear to be so flawless is because there's less room for error when you are essentially patching a stock firmware and having everyone pretty much do an entire restore from that patched firmware. Purplera1n by nature does not require you to restore, unless you encounter errors, you can do the patching/Jailbreak realtime/live.

Also to note this is not something GeoH does on a regular basis as pointed out about by sj660, us, the community, wanted a fix and like at a gentlemans club he made it ra1n lol.

With that said he is allowed some flaws in his Beta release.

Here are the locations for the various sound files the phone uses:

root/System/Library/Audio/UISounds/.....

Just find the sound you want to change and your done.

Edit: To find the files, I just searched on MMI's download section for the various sounds. I got the transformers lock/unlock from there to use and I'm sure you can find what you are looking for there.

Just a quick question, what will happen if I sync my iPhone with iTunes? Will it back up all my jailbroken apps? This is my first jailbreak so I'm not too sure what'll happen. Thanks.

Actually.....there is an application called aptbackup just search cydia and you'll find it. PLEASE NOTE THOUGH.I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WORKS ON 3Gs...anyhow I have used it in the past and it automatically redownloads all the past cydia apps you've had in past...be aware it will bring all the old apps you've had prior so if you forgot to uninstall one you didnt need prior to app backing up then it comes with it.
