so if i download the IPA's from "somewhere" , i can use itunes to install them without fear of being charged?

and with the AppSync thing, i can just use itunes to get them without being charged?

I'm running the exact same version as you. No Dice. My phone froze, as did yours, and then continues through with the process until the purplera1n box shows done, wait for reboot. After that, how long did you wait for your phone to reboot? I keep getting conflicted stories with how long this should take, some say a few minutes, one guy says a mind blowing 30 seconds. If youre saying it works with windows 7, please expound on the amount of time it took for yours to finish.

There was another person a few posts before me whose also JB on win7. What was your experience in regard to how long it took? I'm just trying to see how long I should be looking at my phone in DFU until i concede that it isnt working and restore to normal.

And to the person above me, -1000. Stop asking about pirating apps. If you're gonna do it, at least be quiet about it... I really cant believe that. Its not just him - like 5-6 people are running around the thread screaming OMFG JB rulz gimmee freee APPZZZ. Grow up and at least respect the developers enough to not flaunt the fact that your stealing from them DIRECTLY in their faces.

I get the same problem as op. Just get error message when I click 'make it ra1n'.

JB with purplera1n worked then I unlocked using Ultrasn0w and I am having trouble with getting phone calls, anyone else with this issue? I am using T-Mobile in the US.

Ummm...I tried this like three times...It just stayed frozen on the sync screen...I had to put my phone in DFU in order to restore it...So yea i think I'll wait for a DEV TEAM jailbreak...Nice try...

did you try turning off 3G?

came home at 6pm read about the jailbreak option and decided what the hell.

works fine i haven't unlocked it more than happy with o2 so don't need the unlock.

would have prefered the dev team software but it worked like a dream i coudln't wait

i doubt i will upgrade to any upgraded os am happy with 3.0 seems stable enough.

Yeah I did turn off the 3G before downloading the ultrasn0w, but still nothing...if it doesn't work I will just restore and wait. Thanks for the help.

well mine took roughly 30 seconds or so before the apple logo showed again to reboot HOWEVER

my friends 3GS, didn't work the first time, or well he just gave up after a few minutes of that picture as if it was working but didn't do anything (computer showing: Done, wait for reboot, etc) - he then just held power and home to reset it - and it took it out of recovery mode.

THEN, he redid it again (same thing, it froze, etc, then he reconnected the usb, reran the program), and it took about a minute before the apple logo came to show it was rebooting and then Freeze app was there

so i say if it doesn't work....try, try, try again

got Vista 64bit...just crashes soon as i click "make it rain"...any ideas? compatability mode doesnt work either...

next, put purplera1n.exe in a file with the ra1nyday file you got earlier this week.

run purplera1n.exe

it should roll through everything. Mine did the USB cord to cd with music note thing but then jumped through to the purplera1n image.

if it gets stuck in recovery mode again, use quickpwn.

That being said, I got a few PM's saying you DONT need the ra1nyday file. Personally mine worked the second I put the ra1nyday file in the same folder as purplera1n.exe... so I'm thinking it needed it there. Also, make sure your phone is plugged into the BACK of the computer and NOT the front. purplera1n CAN NOT send commands threw the front USB plugs

PERFECT!!!!! I did this on vista 32bit. Still did not want to work 100% so here is what I did!

I right clicked on the purplera1 file and picked purplera1n.exe as the program to open it with, that is what got it to work for me.
This did not replace any of my settings, all music, everything was still synced!?!?!?
