iPhone 3GS Jailbreak purplera1n Released! [Windows]

look i download the purplera cr2 first time i jail break
then i press the freez and start download cydia

and its allready 30min stuck in the download cydia section what to do i tried off on the phone i tried all over again its start download in the middle stuck

plz i need to go to work and i dont know what to do

any help

shpould i need to install the purplera rc1 before the rc2
or no?

or should i do again jb

Yes, just grab it from purplera1n.com. Also I did not install the first one I was waiting on others comments but decided to give rc2 a try. So I went straight to rc2 version for my jb.

Yes, just grab it from purplera1n.com. Also I did not install the first one I was waiting on others comments but decided to give rc2 a try. So I went straight to rc2 version for my jb.

I used RC1 this morning, and after about 5-6 hours of working on my iphone it crashed and got stuck in a boot cycle. Then i also realized my back up i made right before jailbreaking is gone.
I am now finally just about ready to use RC2

Your jailbreak is fine, just exit freeze and run it again. It's bound to work eventually.

but i did it for 20 times allready always the download start little then stuck im afraid the jailbreak was not good thats why hes not downloading good cydia

i didnt even see someone complain about this

how long should i wait to download i saw clips its 1 min damn

now i go to see how was the progress sims to finish

i got window that say under download finished so i need to press home button or to wait till it close alone

Its great i got it to work with Iphone 3gs
and i unlocked it with ultrasnow
It works smooth
But winterboard doesnt work as they all said

Like the title says...no issues with any part of the Jailbreak or installing Cydia and uninstalling Freeze by means of installing CyDelete through Cydia.

So far everything I've thrown at the 3GS under Jailbreak is working perfectly and unbelievably snappy.

Cydia loads, refreshes etc super fast...it's like using a totally different device. Cydia loads etc faster than any web page renders, including Google with no widgets or news items etc.

Haven't and wont install Winterboard until a confirmed fix is available, but the following have been installed and all run as well as they did on my previous 3G or far better and certainly almost instantaneously!

Installed Cydia aps:

Backgrounder (specifically for 3.0 only)
Boss Prefs
dTunes
MakeitMine
Mobile Terminal
Open SSH
Safari Download Plug-in
SBSettings + 1 Theme
sbsettings toggle

and a few other sources and repositories.

I know its still BETA, but other than Winterboard, it does all I personally want from a Jailbreak.

Here's hoping that future Jailbreaks of this nature work as seamless as this has done for me and that the bugs or lack of certain code will all be ironed out. For now though, I have no complaints at all.

...Updted to RC2. Wouldn't work on Windows 7 (got stuck in Recovery mode), but worked like a dream in Win XP.

Ran it in XP on VMFusion, stuck in restore mode, ran it again, no problem.

Needed to reboot after running Freeze, but again, all ok. Cydia! Yay! Thanks.

Well, I tried RC2 over the first release to get the kernel patches and it didn't work. Just got stuck with George on the screen. I'm going to restore and apply RC2 fresh.

And it did here too. Back in business! Some people the geohots blog said they were able to go right over. Oh well. Probably better doing it fresh anyway. Since Cydia is so speedy, I don't mind installing things

So do you guys think trying the RC2 release is worth it? I have not tried jailbreaking my 3GS due to a few issues and well im using Win 7. Now RC2 supports it and seems maybe worth a try or just hold of until a final release?
