Dam, i retract everything bad ive ever said about the 3GS. I don't plan on making a drink or having an 8 hour sleep before i open Cydia now, its quick enough to actually search and use, just like installer on 1.x.
Ive heard conflicting reports, has anyone tried tricker3g or voipover3g with slingplayer? this is a MUST for me!!The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

I agree reeko, if you have negative comments, just keep them to self. Everyone was complaining for the lack of a 3G[S] jailbreak & now that GEO has worked dilligently to get us one, we now have ungreatful idiots complaining that is was rushed or buggy or whatever the case may be. Just remember, this is a hobby for alot of people and they could easily not release anything for the public Giving you a reason to complain. So be courteous & thank them for their work. If you don't want to use it, cool, just be on your way because there are alot of people here on this forum that really appreciate what they do for all of us. Thanks for your time.

someone should make a sticky on how to make iphone backups and make it very noob friendly. also maybe a jailbroken guide for us noobs. so we can have links on what apps are needed and what steps should be taken.. I am still unsure if i want to wait for the dev team to make their release or use purplera1n

Done. Took less then five minutes to JB, download and install Cydia.
This was awesome. It might have bugs in it, but it will take time to perfect.
Thank You.

ok, backgrounder works.
playing doom, background enabled to spring board, open safari and search.
sbsettings shows 128MB free memory still! with every process killed i get 163MB
Hopefully backgrounder gets updated to sought of stack apps, background a couple at a time.
The speed is really showing through now and it is worth every penny of an upgrade. Just wow.The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

^+1 And re-springing is almost instantaneous! Very sweet!
EDIT: And SBSettings is lightning fast! And I love the show memory on top bar...it is nice showing 145MB free. What a difference from the 3G where I was hopeful for 30MB free.

....and how many of you donated?
How many of you donated? Over the last two years, I remember people saying they'd donate if they could. Well, he ain't the dev-team, but he jb'd my 3GS. All I ever wanted was SBSettings again.
Did you donate?
Will you donate?
Just asking.... Isn't there a poll thing here?If I've helped you or even just made you laugh, hit Thanks. Every time you do, an iPhone gets jailbroken. FREE THE iPHONES!!!

Its amazingly fast!
Mine kept konking out on Vista and I was stuck on the restore screen. Thankfully my XP laptop saved the day, just plugged the phone into the laptop while it was at the restore screen and ran the purplera1n app and it finished its task.
I'm wondering now if the kernel updates they are working on will be able to be installed or if a re-jailbreak will be needed? Would be nice if the Freeze app looks for updates and they can deliver it though that, but I think its only purpose is to get Cydia there?
