Here is a tutorial to downgrade: http://acujo.com/tutorials/how-to-do...software-only/
To upgrade back to 4.6 use the same process with a 4.6 bootloader image file

i am on 1.1.1 unlocked, jailbroken (anySim) from 1.0.2
So all i have to do is plug it into iTunes as per the guide and restore to 1.1.4?
I remembered when i went from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 i had to somehow bring the phone back to "default" factory settings before doing the iTunes restore?
So i can do it straight from an unlocked iphone now then?
just wanna confirm thanks!

YouTube 1.1.3/4 activation fix!!
Ok here you go for all of you who still can't get youtube working after using ziphone here's what i did and it worked.
get the lockdownd from http://tinyurl.com/2o6kla and replace the lockdownd in /usr/libexec
get these files http://www.macriot.com/support/thethreefiles.zip place them in /var/root/Library/Lockdown/
delete all files in the the activation records folder.
(grabbed off hackint0sh forums)
After doing this and restarting your phone it may boot up normally but have no bars, this is cause it isnt activated. so just plug that mofo into iTunes and get you some activation! Sorry all you non att folk, I have no idea how hacktivation works or if this will work with it, I assume you may need to use ziphone, or iPlus to reactivate it after this, but i did this to my iphone 1.0.1 OOB which has had EVERY JB method used on it lol, and my girlfriends 1.1.3 OOB, both were restored to 1.1.4 & jailbroken only with ziphone 2.5c.
Now my question why the hell do i care about my bootloader? Im sure somewhere down the line its going to be upgradeable and reversible both ways

I still have a 1.0.2 iphone that i used the old iUnlock method(the long, and painful method that screws up the baseband)
Will I be able to upgrade to 1.1.4 with out doing any major modding to get iPlus to work for my phone?
03-14-2008, 12:09 PM #90Stuck on the screen with the red bar
All seems to have gone well up to this point, and here I am stuck:
Attempting unlock for BL3.9
Alas, I'm waiting and going nowhere. Understand however that my phone had the dreaded 'needs repair' message and has no baseband, etc... as I think many others have experienced. I have tried every trick in the book short of the hardware testpoint method and nothing seems to work.
I think you've got a great utility here but I wonder if there is anything that can kick my iPhone out of this limbo. I am not sure if the baseband is the problem or the bootloader; I always seem to get stuck on a bootloader issue and have no idea how to fix it. It's only software, right? Why should this be so difficult, if not impossible?
Any help will be most gratefully accepted.

It was a major pain getting it revirginized and making sure everything worked.
Do you know of any other ways to revirginize with out going through hell again?(possibly a GUI or one click program)
03-14-2008, 12:31 PM #94
i just dont get why dont they make a simple software like zibri in one click and u dont have to do anything else? Think Different

Thanks for the suggestions. iBrickr has not worked for me. I've downgraded to 1.0.2 and tried to erase and reflash the baseband using methods I've found online. I get this:
"Error: Baseband bootloader is too old; update to 1.8 or later and try again."
I've googled 'till blue in the face and have found no solution to that one. To my untrained mind, I see that my baseband does not exist and my bootloader does not let me get down there to fix it. Arrrrgh.
By now I've 'restored' my phone so many times and tried fixing the baseband/bootloader issue so much that I've probably made things worse. I guess I'm waiting for a utility that can just wipe everything clean and start from scratch, but I wonder if that's even possible.

did you try to revirginize with ziphone?

if its JB and you can ssh the BB upgrader to it (I saw it on installer one time) that may do the trick, but you would need to have a little knowledge on running native apps though through terminal

I have just used iPlus successfully to jailbreak my 1.1.4 phone but there is still no IMEI, no ICCID, no Modem Firmware, no WiFi, and the 'needs repair' message is still there. I'll try iPlus now with -u again and see what happens when we get to the BL3.9 moment.
I can always restore to what looks like a useable state but always without a baseband.

EDIT :: Try this first!!! http://www.modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10124
I think once you brick the base band you may be in for a new iphone I dont think there is a way to flash a new baseband yet, so what you should do is lie!
Get everything back to as close to factory default settings as you can (no jb) and take your phone to the att store and tell them that when you were updating to 1.1.4 from whatever you came from, your computer lost power, when you rebooted the computer and restarted the restore, your phone could no longer make phone calls! Make a big deal out of it, and they will probably fix it for free. My friend did this at the apple store here in Tx, quite a funny sight to see.
Also, demand a refund, a 16gig iPhone, and the att reps first born child. Settle with nothing less.... Good luck friend!
