I posted a ton of pics in the 3.0 overview thread of MMS working on AT&T with some settings. They have worked for a few of my friends iPhone 3Gs, I'm working on a 3Gs tonight. Some people's phones are just not provisioned to do it.

It's not the 3.0 or 3.1 or 3.x that gives you MMS. It's AT&T that will give it to you.

I have a family plan on att with 4 others phones NON are iPhones..

I have iPhone 3G and my settings are http://mmsc.cingular.com and proxy is 66.209.11.032 .

mms works no problem.


as for 3.1, what are the exact details to what is being fixed.

In theory, yes... since there were video apps available back in the early days on a jail broken 2G. So the hardware does indeed seem to support video. However, that does not imply that software written for the 3gs will run on 3G hardware.

Given that this is a beta release then the answer is yes, you will need to have the UUID registered.

3.1 means something bigger, IMO

Yeah but as we have seen in the past Apple does not know how to name builds properly. I am an Apple dev but honestly I don't care what's on this new firmware until someone else checks it out. I just got my phone set up exactly the way I like it and I don't feel like starting over until I know there's at least one good reason to. Even with appbackup and all those backup goodies.

Could just be a big waste of time.

If thats all there is then I'm gunna go ahead and skip this update unless its needed for MMS in the future with ***-T&T.

You will lose your jailbreak and your unlock if you update. Ultrasn0w is dependent on the 4.26.08 baseband. 3.1 has a baseband of 5.08.01 which can not be downgraded. If you want to stay unlocked on the 3g or be able to unlock on the 3g[s] in the future do not install any 3.1 betas or 3.1 when it is released without being able to preserve the baseband. Unfortunately there are no tools to do so yet so best bet, stay away from 3.1 until told otherwise.
