* iPhone SDK 3.1 beta is for development purposes only. This software should be installed on devices dedicated exclusively for iPhone OS 3.1 beta application development only.
* Devices updated to iPhone OS 3.1 beta can not be restored to earlier versions of iPhone OS . Devices will be able to upgrade to future beta releases and the final iPhone OS 3.1 software.
* iPhone SDK 3.1 beta can not be used for submitting iPhone OS 2.2.1 or iPhone OS 3.0 applications to the App Store.
* iPhone SDK 3.1 beta and iPhone OS 3.1 beta are pre-release software and are considered Apple Confidential Information. Any information Apple collects is subject to the terms of the Apple privacy policy.

I believe it's nothing more then what Apple chose to use as a new naming convention for the 3.0 series. It makes it look like more then it is.

when 2.0 came out, how long did it take until 2.0.1 came out after? should gives us some rough approximation of a final 3.1 release

Congratulations, you are now not able to jailbreak. Once you go to the 3.1 software, it is impossible to go back.

If he has his iBSS certificate he is fine....unlock is the issue not the jailbreak. With the baseband update ultrasn0w will no longer work.

Congrats, you dont know what your talking about

A)Thats what they said about 3.0 Beta and you could downgrade no problem.
B) GeoHotz has found several exploits Apple doesnt know of. So even if they patch the known 2G iPod Touch exploit, GeoHotz has some more unknown tricks up his sleeve. So if you upgrade youll be able to jailbreak, it just might be a little while more. Your screwed with unlocking tho

were not talkn 3Gs to 3G comparison its comparison to how fast it was loading on 3.0 n less firmwares on the 3g. N who knows wha happnd to 3.0.1 apple does wa they wanna do
