if you do a restore the 3gs, I have seen mentioned somewhere the fw ips is different from original

I remember him being pretty mad at the dev team when the OS 2.0 came out, as he claimed he showed them the key to the JailBreak.

Supposedly GeoHotz is before 3.0.1 and the Dev Team is going to after 3.0.1 for "the benefit of the community" i.e they havent finished their jailbreak yet

I dont know much except the fact that they just are two seperate teams that work on jailbreaking, etc... But GeoHotz is working with the chronic dev which is why they have the jailbreak first. So I suppose the difference is GeoHotz

I think he does the actual exploit finding, etc.. by himself and then shares it with a dev team.

Why are you people delaying it? because if your saying that "if we take it out now then apple will block ultrasn0w and people who are about to get iphone 3gs will be blocked untill you people make another breakthrough of it so your waiting for them"? but the thing is that ultrasn0w is already out for 3g and it will use the same thing on 3GS to unlock it as you said it will work on 3GS too, then wont apple be working on it since you've released it? if you release the JB now atleast we can use our iphones now not wait untill the block it in 3.1 and you make us wait for it even more time...

No one is delaying it. The Dev Team is waiting for 3.0.1 because they dont have a jailbreak yet and are just buying time, and GeoHot will release a jailbreak as soon as he finishes a GUI
