Prediction - Dev team hasnt been able to jailbreak the 3Gs. Therefore, they made up this story to buy themselves time until the next OS release. In which case they either 1. Actually figure out a jailbreak or 2. Simply say Apple patched the hole. Its a no lose situation for the dev-team. They can lie their way out of it with another lie!

Yeh we got two Apples stores in Manchester, one in Arndale and the other in The Trafford Centre. Well, I phoned O2 and they said the whole of UK is out off stock, talking to an O2 person is sooo diificult, I guess the delivery times for the iPhone 3GS show Apple are out of stock.

Dev Team will just end up using GeoHot's exploit like they have always done since iPhone came out in 2007, I think the exception was the jailbreak for the 3G otherwise it's always been down to GeoHot's work

Okay, ugh, I hate explaining this AGAIN...these are what we call RUMORS! The rumor is this, that 3.0 is really 3.0.1 and the next update will be 3.1 or 3.0.2, etc.

But I cannot stress this enough...this as big as a rumor as all of the "leaked 3gs" photos....Dont buy into it

Yeah I think the 3G exploit was taken from Zibri.

as for the firmware rumors, I think that would be silly to say that 3.0 on the 3G S is really 3.0.1 it has the same baseband as the 3G so it would make no sense.

besides even IF it a 2nd revision of OS 3.0 is since they called it 3.0 that makes it 3.0 ...

I bought my 3G S on the 20th so I doubt it was updated by anyone before I got it that morning.

My brother just got his 3gs last night from an order he placed over the phone with AT&T last week (Thursday), and his firmware is the same as mine from launch day.

I don't think Zibri helped on 3G, he gave up at 1.1.4. iPhone 3G jailbreak was all Dev Team I think. All other firmware unlocks and jailbreaks were done by GeoHot
