Chronics Devs and Geohot ROCK i have lost COMPLETE faith in Dev Team....
1) yes 3gs will be jailbrable when it comes out
2) yes 3gs is jailbreakable and will be out soon
3) sorry we have it jailbraked now but will wait till after 3.0.1 when apple fixes the bug and we cant jailbreak it anymore.

It came from stealth bravo and his inside knowledge, I was skeptical to begin with and even more so now, although everything has gone quiet across the board so both dev teams + geohot are working hard on it, but there hasn't been a hint of an actual release date from either of them.
The dev team always release a mobileterminal screenshot showing that the phone is jailbroken, like geohot has. Seeing as they haven't this time, I don't think they have a jailbreak up and running.
Geohot does and it's just a matter of packaging it into a tool with some kind of UI which seems to be taking a long time
seeing as chronic have no previous track record whatsoever I am surprised at many peoples reactions on here. I'll make my decision when the tool(s) are released, until then chronic are pretty non exisent to me

someone needs to give the dev team a little business 101 lesson.......production checks for the 3gs show 7 million iphone 3gs produced in the june quarter.....these are all iphones that are guaranteed to come shipped with 3.0.....exactly how many iphones are they expecting to sell before the release benefits enough people?
i remember getting my wife here first iphone this past october....i can't remember where we were at that point in 2.x.....but her phone came loaded with 2.0.

I think Apple hopes all the dev teams with their various fan boy clubs will help the jailbreak effort self destruct. I have respect for ALL teams and all involved in the effort.
"if you aren't willing to check your ego at the door you probably will not get through it.."I don't drink kool-Aid, I don't join cults.
This is why I break out in cold sweat going to Apple retail store.

Front is useless as the screen does not easily scratch and on the 3GS you are missing on the oleophobic screen. The whole point of having a shield is to avoid bulky cases and keep the sexyness of the iPhone.
imo Zagg is total fail they got the dimensions wrong and the cut isn't good. Was frustrated as hell with it. You should try BestSkinsEver...this one owns but you still have to be patient to align everything.Last edited by M4tt Dam0n; 06-29-2009 at 04:00 PM.

These answers are not from the teams, they are all just a matter of my opinion and the way I have seen things go down over the past few weeks
I speak with them several times a day. Since the GM release of 3.0, I have been in constant contact.
When the 3GS was released every team, and independent dev started working together to share info. Then geohot started advancing way beyond anyone else (at the time the iphone dev team did not have 3GSs and the chronic dev team only had one member with one), thats why I was asking people to tweet and email the teams offering donations. The dev team and geohot have never got along, not entirely the dev teams fault, geohot works better as an independent anyways. To put this in perspective and this is no disrespect to anyone, geohot is light years ahead of any iphone hacker on the planet. The dude is simply amazing, he cracks stuff effortlessly. Like mentioned before geohot felt disrespected by the dev team (which is valid), at that point he stopped sharing information with them. The chronic dev team is very good, they were responsible for the 24kpwn exploit. That exploit is the bootrom exploit that geohot and everyone is using for the iPhone 3GS. Now, the chronic dev team and geohot are in the same boat as far as feeling like rejects from the dev team. Because of this they have a common desire of wanting to get a tool out and beat the dev team to the release.
I do know more. I try to tell you all as much as I can tho.
I am hoping as soon as possible
Thanks, I appreciate that

Nobody really knows if the front is useless on the 3GS yet. Sure the screen is tough, but is the oleophobic coating? If it's not, it might end up looking scratched even when the glass is pristine. I'll let you be the guinnea pig on that one.
Zagg isn't the best, and the cut does suck, but It's easily obtainable at my local Best Buy.
On a side note. I have noticed a couple of differences in installing the Zagg on the 3GS. First, when you apply your solution soaked Zagg to your 3GS screen, don't expect to be able to move it around freely like you can with the 3G, that sucker grips tight and is very hard to move. Also, after squeegeeing out all of the bubbles, it would be unmovable on the 3G. On the 3GS, I can still move sections of the corner a bit if I press down hard with the squeegee. This is a plus in my opinion in case you notice allignment issues later on, but I wonder if it will actually stick once it's done curing.
