I rarely ever post. However all the back and forth about whether to release a the JB or not has really got me thinking about the pros and the cons of doing so. I understand the Dev Team's concerns about future jailbreakers and their chances of a jailbreak after 3.0.1 comes available. But the exploit is public and a known exploit that Apple was unable to patch. I'm sure Apple is just as aware as the rest of us that the 3gs has been jailbroken. If they're going to patch it then you can bet it's already been done and incuded in 3.0.1 so any new iPhones that come out will already have the fix in place. That really changes nothing for those of us currently with an unjailbroken iPhone 3GS. My suggestion: release the jailbreak. Those lucky enough to get there hands on an iPhone 3GS with FW 3.0 can still use the ECID file generated. Everyone should be warned against upgrading to 3.0.1 until it's verified that it can be jailbroken. Just my thoughts

I have officially created my own tool as you have told me to do.
The jailbreak for the 3GS is completed and ready.

However apple is going to release firmware 9.8.5 so i will be waiting a few years to release this product to the public.

Remember the need of the many out weigh the needs of the few.

Jailbreaking isn't a need, so it's really not that big of a deal.
