I'm effen lost like Jack Shepard! I did the purplera1n thing too, do I still have to do the stuff in the dev team post? It didn't make a lot of sense to me. I thought i was pretty nifty with computers until a minute ago, LOL

It is highly recommended that you do this as soon as possible. Especially before 3.1 comes out.

I'm on a Mac and have a question.

I found the \tmp folder and it has a lot of crap in it. Can I delete the folder (or at least the contents) before doing this, or is everything in there currently needed? I know this might sound kind of dumb, but I'm sure lots of people want as much clarification as possible also, haha.

It is safe to delete, these are temporary files that get deleted anyway

Ok, normal restore in process and I got the IBEC file.

Now waiting for this to finish and go for the IBSS.

Now, Who was saying apple isn't trying to make jailbreaking harder?

Safe to deleted contents of tmp
The files will remain in the folder during the restore process
Just copy them into a new folder.

Anyone done the DFU and confirm they found a IBSS? I had another IBEC file, but didn't see a IBSS.
