I use mine underwater all the time now, thought nothing beats that tapping the side of the bathtub with yer head underwater, BUT even better is playing drum and bass through the speakers with bubbles coming out and smacking the side of the hottub with yer head after u were so loaded u had the iPhone playing music in yer shorts pocket and jumped into the hottub tunes playing. Now the BEST underwater sound is the iphone being smacked on yer head after all yer buddies watch u get in the pool with the phone earbuds in pretending to rock out. Then someone will always say 'iPhones are not waterproof as I sink to the bottom cussin' my stupidity' the responce is usu. neither was my head that night... and by the way, thanks TIPS.
So I swim with it now just to get a reaction. Need some joy out of a $880 loss and peoples faces as u jump in the pool or lake with yer iPhone in hand is priceless, not $880 priceless. But better than beating yer self up.

I dropped my 2g in a bowl of soup for about 3 seconds (dock side down) and it died. I had 3 days left on the original Apple warranty, and since the water sensor in the headphone jack wasnt triggered, they gave me a new one.
Too bad I cracked the screen on the new one after a month..

Even if it was an iphone he probably had it in a ziploc bag
and he said it was an iPhone 3g not 3gs in the video.
