i have been checking this website and twitter for news everyday since the day i got the 3gs in the mail. this is great news indeed.

well, i'm thrilled

i used the store hack that was posted (don't think it works anymore) but it did work because i got my 32g black iphone by fed ex 2 days ago. it's been sitting in the box because w/o a jailbreak and unlock what good is it...

well, but since i was able to buy it without a contract tonight i figured what the hell and plugged it in. and of course, i should have realized...no contract...no problem. so i'm building my phone now (which i'll have to restore once there's a new pwange tool) but i am setting it up. and already i'll tell you one great thing...32g is NICE. i'm loading over 15g of music, 3.5 g of apps, 8 movies and i've still got lots of space. now that's nice!

and now i read the jailbreak is actually looking positive. WOW

32g..it's really a true mini notebook now isn't

24Kpwn lives on, in the iPhone 3GS!
About 5 hours ago, we were able to verify that the 24Kpwn exploit that the hybrid team used on the iPod Touch 2G is still present in the bootrom of the iPhone 3GS. That means we can apply the same sort of technique used by our current redsn0w tool to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone 3GS.

This is great news!

And yes, ultrasn0w will be able to be run on the iPhone 3Gs for you unlockers!

going back to the first page of posts, i thought just to add one other thing to why i think the jailbreak is so important...mac is far and above the most beautifully designed of all computer electronics. it's the primary work tool for almost everyone in every phase of the entertainment and related businesses. so for me the app i'd miss the most is winterboard (besides the unlock. i'm a t-mobile guy and would never switch). but so many people have put great effort into theme designs and making ways to have our iphones become an expression of personal esthetic tastes, i'd most regret that loss. it goes without saying that ssh is a must as well.

so all you great dev teamers, and mr cydia (jay) devoted designers like bars...i applaud all your efforts

quick question.. i think i know the answer just want to verify.

any jailbroken apps already working on 3G 3.0 should work just the same on a JB 3GS right? Apps run the same, its just the jailbreak thats different due to the hardware... correct or no?

Just a quick question. I have an iPhone 3G with an a legal carrier ( they sell the iPhone). If I get the iPhone 3GS will be able to use it with my existing data plan?
