Apple Allows Update with Nude Pics for NSFW app, "Sold Out" on First Day

Yesterday Apple approved an update to a NSFW app called "Hottest Girls". The update made the app to be first on the store having nude content. Seems that with the 3.0 Parental controls, Apple won't babysit you anymore and leave it to your parents!

The app was given a 17+ rating for Frequent/Intense Sexual Content/Nudity, which it actually does contain . . . Before the app simply used to contain pictures of girls in bikinis but this new update adds topless pictures as well.

We uploaded nude topless pics today. This is the first app to have nudity.

As noticed by many, the app was removed from the AppStore just a few hours after the update. First it was suspected that too much hype around the app was killing Apple's tidy reputation, leading to the removal - but according to an update on the developer's site, it has been "sold out". By this he means that their servers were already overloading so they are removing the app from the store for sometime, but it will be back soon with all the content intact.

The Hottest Girls app is temporarily sold out. The server usage is extremely high because of the popularity of this app. Thus, by not distributing the app, we can prevent our servers from crashing. Those who already have the app will still be able to use our app. To answer the question on everyone's mind: Yes, the topless images will still be there when it is sold again. -ATG dev team

This was bound to happen . . . in no time, the app had reached 60th spot in the US AppStore!

Letting this into the AppStore is a strange move for Apple, who previously had been pretty adamant about not letting objectionable content in - even to the point of initially denying the "Fart" apps. I hope this isn't a precedent for Apple - I don't go into an Apple store and see an entire shelf of adult-only erotic software - why allow it in the AppStore?

P.S. If your kid has an iPhone/ iPod Touch and you're worried about him, enable Parental Controls in Settings --> General --> Restrictions

NSFW= Not Suitable For Work, meaning it is content you wouldn't want displayed on a work computer as it could get you in trouble depending on the monitoring and restrictions an employer may have on their network.

If so many people are paying good money for some topless bikini pictures i can only imagine the revenue that will be generated should porn ever arrive in the app store...lol.
