The BL isn't the problem - it's the BB.
Which they will probably update with a FW3.01 in a couple of weeks.

i recall reading somewhere that a lower BL version allow you to downgrade BB at will. It is a definitely a plus for *.*sn0w. there is no point to upgrade since cydia allow us to install similar features. and the current sn0w isn't good as the dev team would wish.

YS worked with BB 2.28.00
US works with BB 4.26.08
No need to not upgrade to FW 3.0
Only BL 5.8 can downgrade the BB but that is not necessary now.

It means they have hopefully found an exploit. But thats not a confirmation of total success for a jailbreak.
