@soniamcangel!
The upgrade removes everything JB had done before. It is a mandatory to JB again!
On the plus size, it is no hustle to JB! thanks to the Dev Team and Geohot solutions. It is no hustle.
Thanks

I have an 8G 2nd generation 3G iPhone and I was able to Jailbreak and use ultrasn0w with absolutely no problem. Thanks everyone.
However, I cannot get the 3G to work i.e. the UMTS service to work.
I have T-Mobile but when I turn on 3G it says "No Service"
I know that yellowsn0w was used to allow 3G pre 3.0, but is there a way to get 3G to work on 3.0?
Edge, GPRS, WiFi all work great.
I have internet3.voicestream.com set up for APN - I know that the procedure says internet2.voicestream.com but I was told by T-Mobile to use internet3.voicestream.com - it is working great with the exception of 3G - any thoughts?Last edited by tmoflash; 07-29-2009 at 06:51 AM.

AT&T's 3G and T-Mobile's 3G are different. Current iPhones will never work on T-Mobile USA 3G (unless T-Mobile changes their stuff).

^Just use the current version of ultrasn0w and give it 3.0 when it asks for the ipsw file.

Full details at Dev-Team Blog - Recycling goodness
UltraSn0w works fine. This is a very minor FW upgrade so no problems just upgrading then JB using redSn0w 0.8 using the ipsw from FW3.0He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Many users had the same problem over the past, including me.
Follow this link to another thread where I described a way to bypass this problem. It is a little more complicated, since you need work parallel to the cydia GUI, but it will help you.

Hey guys.
Firstly thank you Dev team as your apps have helped me get some adult love from my girlfriend since Yellowsn0w haha.
And sorry if this has already been covered in this thread but im at work and my boss keeps coming in and out of my office so i dont really have time to check all 24ish pages.
Anyway i did my girlfriends iphone as shes on Vodafone and the phone is unlocked, but this morning she relised it was taking her 30mins to recieve one of my texts and i wasnt getting all of hers.
Now she cannot recieve nor send texts to anyone. Is there a work around to this, as it will be much appreciated.
Shes turned phone on and off and put it into airplane mode on and off.
Thanks in advance Joe.

It might be a network issue. Try putting her sim into another phone and see if it works there.

Do I leave my T-Mobile sim card in the whole time I'm doing this? Or should I take it out, unlock it then insert it?
