I know this maybe dumb, but I have having so much trouble jailbreaking my 2g iphone,ATT, to 3.0 and yes I have done this before with other softwares.

Well this thread won't help you, UltrasnOw is for the 3G unlock.

for the few people who dont read...

yes you need FW 3.0 JB installed with itunes 8.2 (and yes its safe to use itunes 8.2)
you need either redsn0w or pwnagetool to jailbreak or if you can get hold of a custom FW for yourself.

get into cydia add the source :repo666.ultrasn0w.com - update
(disable 3G if your t mobile us) install ultrasn0w

reboot device with sim required and

VOILA

you ave unlocked your phone really simple!

Thank you so much. I know that the instructions ar eon here but it still seemed a bit confusing and I was really hopeing someone would clear it up instead of just sayin it worked perfect without sayin how they did it.

I really wanted to know if you keep the Tmobile sim card in the iphone the entire time while JB and Unlocking. Im on a Mac

im not sure what it was i did i uninstalled ultrasnow restarted the phone installed ultrasnow again restarted the phone and then i entered the epc.tmobile.com and then it worked now im just haveing problems with mms and i got tethering to work from this link SiNfuL iPhone | Enable Tethering on your iPhone and click on your service provider hit install and then install again its suppose to make mms work as well but havent had any luck with that just tethering working
