i found my phone using findmyi. Its impossible to disable without wiping the phone but it also blocks wiping the phone and locks it so the thief cannot use it. And its way cheaper at only 2$ a month!!

iLocalis.. after the trial period you donate but you get to choose from a range of prices (i think the cheapest was like $5 or was it $10?...)
awesome app. it's for jailbroken phones & i just hide the app from my springboard. i set mine up so it tweets my location at certain intervals, but you can also log in to the website and find your location.. also you can remotely send a text message FROM the stolen iphone so it tells you what number the theif is using... a bunch of other sick features but just go to the site

How exactly do you "activate" the feature on your phone?
