Does anybody know why when jailbreaking my iphone 3G on Windows 7? It locks up either in the middle of uploading ramdisk or 3 blocks to the end of it. I can't seem to make it pass this point. I've restored my phone back to the original 3.0 settings and retried. It still does this. Is this because I'm using Windows 7? If somebody knows please reply or pm me thanks.

Worked just fine on Windows 7229 x64. Maybe you should update your winver.

does it matter what version of iTunes you have installed?

Yes, it only works with 8.2 as stated in many posts and by iTunes itself when u check for updates
Use older versions only if u wish to downgrade ur firmware

It's been around here before, I think it refers to not having iTunes updated to version 8.2 :-? but I'm not sure :-?

anyone notice why winter board doesn't show up after installing it again? also why is categories not working right? it doesn't show the icons for folders? Also the five column not working. not sure about this jailbreak of 3.0 for windows? Was much better for earlier versions.

Just finished doing this, works fine...m*P**ch is still working for the jailbroken apps too. I thought I would have to download that again from Cydia. Too bad cydia keeps crashing so much.
Looking forward to the Ultrasn0w and the release of the 3G S JB/unlock for my new iphone.

Solved it by installing my previous firmware, 2.2.1. Thanks.

I have a big problem big for me.
Before the update to 3.0 i had 2.2 installed and in Cydia i had 127mb free outta 700mb. Now after installing only OpenSSH, SBSettings and MobileSubstrate I only have 98mb outta 500mb free. What the hell happened to all the free space?
And yes, I did restore it, not update it, and my iPhone even has more memory now, 7.03 GB, before it had 6.93GB.
Any help?
