Do we use itunes to update to 3.0 or can i use the firmware i just downloaded from the link above? Thanks.

Not sure then, try reconnecting it in a different USB port

@PDub: Download from the link above then Shift+Restore in iTunes to 3.0

tried that too its strange, Iv restarted the iphone/itune services, mite try a reinstall

You will have to use the firmware with itunes first to restore to 3.0 and then use redsn0w to activate and jailbreak

I went to help.BenM.at/help.php ,for Romania there is only a config for vodafone network whereas I am on orange ( my edge is working fine by default).

In my network menu only "Data roaming", "VPN" and "Wi-fi appear as options.

Done! Works great!!
I had not to unlock, because i've already unlocked in 2.2, the unlock and the activation remains if you update to 3.0 on iTunes.
All Contacts, calendar entries and AppStore apps remains too without the need of restore backup.
Now i have to install the Cydia Apps only
