ok so i lost all my contacts. how do i get them back? thanks for the help.

ok so i restored to back up. so how do i jailbreak without losing my contacts? i've only previously done this on my mac not on my xp. so i do i get my iphone contacts to stay in there while i jailbreak?

In Xp go to:

Start--->All Programs--->Accessories--->Windows Address Book

Create a false contact in Windows Address Book...like Joe Citizen 1 (555)555-5555 and save it.

Open iTunes and plug in your phone.
Under the Info tab of your iPhone tell it to sync contacts with Windows Address Book.

Sync and you are set. From now on all you have to do after jailbreaking is make sure the Sync Contacts is selected and you are good.

What I usually do is add one false contact to the iPhones Contacts before syncing in iTunes just to be sure because I never restore from a backup...always set up as new.

Start over from the beginning.

Launch iTunes.
Sync your phone if you wish to restore from backup(not advisable!).
Shift+Restore to Apple's 3.0
Close iTunes.
Redownload Redsnow and unzip it with Winrar.
Run Redsnow selecting Cydia.
Set up your phone as new in iTunes.
Sync all of your music, contacts, etc etc.
Reboot your iPhone and when it starts back up launch Cydia. Rebooting seems to be the key with most folks.

Thanks!!! So far I've just completed the jailbreak and put the flowers theme on my phone, so I haven't had time to "test" it yet, but I'm so excited!!

Is anyone else having problems with Cydia apps? The programs work fine but small adjustments like the keyboards and such won't work and neither will the program that let's me put weather on my status bar.

Re-do the jailbreak. Had the same problem and it worked fine after the second go round. Now if I can only get over the very sluggish conditions with this new OS after jailbreak.

Yea I noticed that too my 5row Qwerty kb dont work no more, as well as whenever I get 5 icon dock it messes up my screens I dont know if they have just not converted them for OS 3.0 or what but would love to see them fix those things

yeah...I usually mess electronic things up! Now I'm getting an error and redsn0w stops working right after it says it's uploading the kernel...I've done it like 5 times!

eta: Restarted my pc and it worked like a charm!

will not let me put any themes on phone they download when i check it it will not load it error

couldn't configure pre-depend dpkg for ncurse,probably a dependency cycle.

this is what im getting any help please...
