I finally Back my iphone on my original setting..from the firmware that i download from other site 3.0..anyway the problem is the firmware that i download is not verified by the redsnow ..if i put back the firmware that i download from here the itune will not sync and it and will look for the supported SIM..

any idea guys..? should i restore it agin with the custom firmware again?

Thats not right... Mine took about 5 min to do the whole jailbreak. Try again?

For all those people wondering about Contacts, just use Windows Contacts. All you do is type them in once and then every time you restore you can sync them fresh every time with iTunes.

JBed my iPhone 3G with success on Windows 7.
The first time it failed to upload the RAM disk :/
Then I turned my iPhone off and tried it again and it worked.

How are sooo many people running into problem? It's really easy and only a 5 minute job. People list the OS your on.

I was nervous about jailbreaking because I heard so many problems. But I ran redsn0w under Administrator and worked perfectly with Vista.

IMPORTANT

Many people are having similar issues, and is causing many threads to be opened, I myself am having the issues aswell, and would like some help please.

Issue (This may be added to the main page)

redsn0w 0.7.1, iPhone 2G (may also be for 3g) hangs on a black empty screen when the jailbreak is running (after the ipod had been put in dfu mode)
it either displays "waiting for reboot" Or "Done!", but the iphone remaines on the black empty screen.

hey everyone. i have a question. i have an iphone 3G and i instaled yellow sn0w. but i haven't insterted a different sim to see if my iphone was unlocked. i just removed yellow sn0w. can i still update my firmware to 3.0?

Finaly worked after 6 filed attempts (Uploading Ram Disk)

Windows 7 BTW

just disable the run as admin it makes stuff alot easier just google it cause i dont remember i disabled it along time ago

yeah, I right-clicked and ran under administrator (aside from me having the administrator account)

but get same black empty screen...redsnow does not hang, it says the process is done all goes well (software wise)...it's the phone that gets stuck on a black empty screen after redsnow says it was DONE.

hmmm, could it be a vista 64b problem? i'm having the same issue w/ this OS. don't have another OS. i'm restoring via ITunes to start all over again w/ running in Admin mode this time.

i have windows xp and it worked fine for me. I have a Iphone 2g with tmobile it was unlocked and jailbroken on 2.2.1 when i updated to 3.0 through itunes i lost my jailbreak but i didn't loose my unlock...it still worked on tmobile. So I just jailbroke it with redsnow. NO problems. Just CYDIA right now but like the other user said its their server not the actual jailbreak.
