This forum along with modmymoto, is run be really great people who truly love to mod. Who are curious people who spend alot of time, FREE DONATED TIME to make our gadgets cool, by hacking, modding, screwing up, and fixing and developing a writing lengthy detailed manuals so that we as the end user don't have to go through the pains that they did.

And it's a slap in the face when you have first time, and only time posters coming up asking, not questions to clarify something that might be a bit foggy, but instead @$$hole questions like:

Where can I get cracked apps? No you idiot, if you took the time to read the sticky that was posted that outlines the rules of decorum you would know that you don't ask how to or request anything regarding cracked apps.

Have I ever done something stupid like not reading the sticky on the forum? Yes, and when I was called on it, you can bet damn sure that I humbly apologized and thanked the person for showing me the way.

I say humbly not because they are my betters, but humbly because I was negligent and wasn't something called "responsible". Yeah, reading through 30 pages of BullSh!T posting can be tedious, but you know what? There wouldn't be 30 Pages of BullSh!T if people would post Bullsh!T posts regarding things covered in the front page!

And what's even sadder is that I have had to post yet another BullSh!t post that clutters up this thread just to have to explain it to you two.

It's not about being an "OG", a Newfag or Oldfag, or n00b, or 733T, or whatever, it is about having some type of respect for the people who dedicate their time and resources and MONEY to a project that they generally don't ask for anything in return.

They could easily have made all of this command line/terminal based, they could have easily made all of this without a nice GUI so that even less people could have done this. But instead, they have made something with a really nice interfaces, with some really great instructions on how to. Do you have any idea how long it takes to make things looking nice and uniform? Do you have any clue how much time is dedicated just to this as a hobby?

No you probably don't, all you want to do is say "be nice", and "get along", and then mock those who get pissed off for legit reasons.

The simple answer is this, if you can't read the front page, if you can't spend some time reading and researching then you all need to find a new hobby, cause modding really isn't for you.

I had read in a thread earlier, that there is a slight bug with YouTube and Jailbreaking.

Something about it that causes it to crash (perhaps this was with QuickPwn and OS X).

Is that still the case here, or are there no known bugs regarding this?

(need microsoft net framwork) aswell installed on pc (windows)


download redsnow ( i chose windows)
winrar or winzip .... extract

2 folders will emerge mac_ocx and windows

obviously i chose windows redsn0w.exe

on the same page where you download redsnow at the bottom is iphone 3g restore.ipsw

download

put restore.ipsw file in the same folder where redsn0w.exe

open up redsn0w.exe

left hand side browse.. choose your .ipsw

hey presto follow instructions

HAHA, except I DO spend a lot of time on here helping people and responding to the "stupid questions" . I said before, they piss me off sometimes too, but I ignore it and just answer them anyways. Modding is not new to me. I have been doing this for several years now and know what I am doing. I didnt just stumble in here yesterday as you say. I as well do this as a HOBBY and do not ask anything in return. I have ads in all of the Miami papers offering FREE iPhone troubleshooting.

All I was saying to begin with was, dont get so pissed off at the people who ask the same questions. They are just trying to learn and we should just help them instead of complaining about them. After all, it is the ones who keep asking these same questions who produce more and more hits on the MMi site....

Again, not trying to argue about who is better than who, I don't care. I know what I am doing and I am just here to help, plain and simple.

EZ to Do!!!! I tried the other method on my 3G and it FAILED Tried RedSnow and it was a Breeze!!!

MAC USERS

1. OPen RedSnow
2. Go to User/Library/itunes/iphone updates and choose 3.0 file (or choose file where you DLed to)
3. Follow on Screen Instructions
4. Shut your Phone Off
5. This step is quick, click next and read the page, don't get scared nothings happening. once read, click back then do click next again and now do what it says.
6. If done correctly, ur phone will finish installing Cydia and your good to go, nothing changes on ur phone just u get cydia now.

i was having the same error. try downloading firmware 3.0 again. use the link from this thread. mine is working perfectly now.

I finally Back my iphone on my original setting..from the firmware that i download from other site 3.0..anyway the problem is the firmware that i download is not verified by the redsnow ..if i put back the firmware that i download from here the itune will not sync and it and will look for the supported SIM..

any idea guys..? should i restore it agin with the custom firmware again?

For all those people wondering about Contacts, just use Windows Contacts. All you do is type them in once and then every time you restore you can sync them fresh every time with iTunes.
