Worked like a charm first time. Cydia was buggy at first but it updated and all is well.

People need to read the few first pages. Theres a explanation for every problem. I researched before i even thought about JB.

i had LOADS of problems with the osx pwnage tool release yesterday.

i was convinsed my phone was dead. That was the end of my beloved 2G iphone.
I tryed EVERYTHING!

i had to go a whole day and night with nothing but CONNECT TO iTUNES to look at =(

But today, redsnow for windows fixed all my problems!

Mine crashed during the "uploading ramdisk"

Guys i was previously on firmware 2.2.1 with iPhone 3G. I hit the upgrade button on itunes to OS 3.0... itunes extracts the software, and prepares the itouch for updating. The silver apple shows up on the itouch, and the bar gets to roughly 70-80%, and iTunes keeps giving me the same error. "the ipod "ipod" could not be updated. (14)."I tried several times restoring to the OS 3.0 i downloaded from iclarified and even the old firmware 2.2.1, even changing the usb ports to connect my usb to, but still the same problem occured. Any help guys? It's killing me. =(

I jailbroke like 30 mins ago with this and i was installing things from cydia when it wouldnt let me do anything. Couldnt go home, couldnt get the "slide to power off" to come up. So I did I hard reset. At the moment I'm stuck at the boot logo screen. It's been like this for about 5 mins.

Once again i´ll ask for HELP! I´ve just JB my iPhone Classic and "Push Notifications" didnt appear in "Settings"....can anyone help me?

try restoring to stock 3.0 first, then run redsn0w......

im getting the same error message that a couple people have gotten, the one about redsnow.exe has stopped working. im on vista, anyone have a solution?

Just noticed it blinked off for a second. Last time this happened to me was the first time I ever jailbroke. Do I need to restore?

When this happens to me i simultaneously push the home and power buttons over and over again. The phone will eventually come to. If not you might need to put into DFU mode and restore

Im trying to restore my 2g iPhone with iTunes using the 3.0 firmware linked in the original post. I keep getting the error message "The iPhone "PJs iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (14) "
Anyone got any ideas?
I need to restore in order to use redsn0w

hai ihave jaibreak my iphone 2g and its worked fine for me.
i am using windows 7 and its works fine on it.

Note: First restore your device to 3.0 firmware and do the instruction given on the redsnow app.

my problem has always been since there are only currently three generations of iPhone, everyone confuses the naming conventions of the 3G service with it being the 3rd Generation iPhone...

And because of that the 1st Generation iPhone has become known as the 2G iphone...

So just to clarify:

There are 3 Generations of the iPhone:

iPhone - 1st Generation iPhone that runs on the Edge Network

iPhone 3G - 2nd Generation iPhone that runs on the Edge AND 3G Network

iPhone 3GS - 3rd Generation iPhone that Runs on the Edge and 3G Network, but has twice the ram and twice the processing power as iPhone 3G, or 2nd Gen iPhone...

The longest it happened to me was for 15 minutes...it normally only happens to me when A. I installed a cracked app or B. I installed an incomplete package from cydia. If it does unfreeze try to undo the last thing you did before it froze.

Doing a restore. I had spent a half hour reinstalling apps. Aptbackup didnt work. Is there any way to reinstall everything easier?
