Yes you can do that. You might get error 1600 though. If so just follow my guide in one of my previous posts in order to get passed it. Remember, this is only a jailbreak, NOT AN UNLOCK.

i jailbroke not thinking there was unlock for my 3g. is there a way to downgrade from 3.0 back to 2.2.1?

There is, but it won't let you unlock it again. You have to wait until Ultrasn0w is released. It should be within the next couple of days if not tonight.

i've tried this in every combination i can think of. DFU and recovery mode. my custom ipsw and downloaded ones, on a mac, on a pc, on another pc. error 1600 every time
the official release is the only one i can get to work

Google for it and download it onto your HDD. Then when it says "No bootloader 3.9 files found browse web?" Click no and then browse your computer for it. Do the same for the 4.6

Yes, just follow my post from before if you get error 1600.

never mind! i fixed the problem. instead of clicking on "yes my iphone has been pwned" i clicked on "no my iphone has not been pwned" and that worked.

I think you need to "pwn" it as well to accept such a ipsw..

If it is possible to send out a PwnD .ipsw that could jailbreak all our iPhones... you'd think they would of released it?

Unless this is all part of the evil plan for them to get us to buy a mac?
