If you restored then I'm 99% sure you will be fine. I think the problem with that only arises if you update.

once i load the JB i dont have service. had to restore with normal 3.0

OMG...Thank god I had to use the restroom, then hit refresh on these pages...I was seconds from installing 3.0 it on my phone.

Just to make sure, I wont be able to unlock it? even though im on a mac and on the latest stuff required? For some reason I mustve read the post wrong. I guess thats why everyone was freaking out for the ultrasnow. Well thanks a bunch Neo, i thanked you...

so if i wanted to jb a friends phone on windows i just need to copy my custom ipsw to his machine, go into dfu mode and restore with the custom ipsw right?

Ultrasn0w should be released sometime this weekend. I think it will be released tonight unless there is some sort of delay. You probably read the jailbreaking of 3G as unlocking. Hehe, good thing I just saved your a**, huh?

Anyway, that's why this forum is here.

Yes you can do that. You might get error 1600 though. If so just follow my guide in one of my previous posts in order to get passed it. Remember, this is only a jailbreak, NOT AN UNLOCK.

HAHA, exactly thanks a ton again! I'll be patiently waiting for ultrasnow like the rest of the world now...Thought I was getting a good jump. Oh well, the 2G was pretty smooth after the initial 1600 error. Hopefully using ultrasnow is easy as well..

why would they make the tool only on mac if their more users on windows???

all it says in the log is :
"2009-06-19 16:10:58 - Unzipping .ipsw file to /tmp/ipsw."

Doubt the icons' timing on the little animation while I wait is relevant, but everytime the Bootloader icon wanders onto the scene that's about the time at which the whole thing freezes and then crashes out. :< Very repeatable.

4 GB available on the drive (could this need more?)
only Firefox running concurrently
can't figure out what to do based on Log message.

2G or 3G? Tell me the exact options that you choose. I want to replicate it and see if it crashes for mine.

the ? I have is can we jailbreak a 3g phone, and then unlock it in the future, Im on att, but when my 3gs is able to unlock im selling my 3g to a friend on t-mobile..

I have windows and a mac.. ( problem solved

it's a 2G phone, i don't input any special options (use simple mode):

pick ipsw (downloaded from link on modmyi to desktop) - takes QUITE a while for it to find it... (~2 min)
yes (put the new ipsw on my desktop)
yes (iphone contract thru iTunes)
Building IPSW (crash as soon as "boot" logo gets out)
i don't get to the "enter your password" part

im not new to jailbreaking i have been doing this for so long now and i have done this many times, but this is the first time that iTunes keeps telling me that it cant restore my iphone after i jailbreak it. it says a problem occurred. i cant restore my iphone 3G using the custom firmware. is any one having this problem too? i have done it 3 times already and still no luck.

I suck at putting the phone in DFU mode. I keep having to restore the stock ipsw because it goes to the "please connect to itunes" screen.

I built it fine. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Pwnage.
