Hey guys,

I jailbroke my iphone and downloaded a few apps... but the problem is now my iphone has no service. Do you guys know what the problem might be. when i was installing cydia there were a few questions i had to answer and for one of the question it was: does your iphone 3g have a contract that would active normally through itune and i said no...

background: Iphone 3g, used a mac, dont have 3.0.1, it has a sim card in it, and my carrier is at&t but they don't know that I have an Iphone.

I used Pwnage, ultrasn0w, redsn0w tools but I can't to jailbreak my iphone, becuase the device it's fine but without signal. I have Cydia into the system.

Somebody have any answers?

Sounds to me like they are trying to use custom ipsw created in pwnage.
If they just use standard ipsw in RedSn0w all should be fine.

I have itunes 8.2.1 trying jb my 3G with FW3.0.1. Pointed redsnow to 3.0 and now stuck at the begining of jb with "waiting for reboot".

Anybody have this happen?

unplug your usb and plug it back in when you are stuck on the waiting to reboot screen....then it will start

hmm thanks for the suggestion but unplugged, and replugged, didnt work. itunes keeps popping up saying the phone needs to be restored, not sure if it's screwing redsnow cause its still waiting for reboot.

I close iTunes but as soon as I plug the phone back in iTunes starts back up.

restart the whole process..Close itunes, open redsn0w, put the phone into DFU mode, unplug the phone and plug it back in quickly when you see it hanging on "waiting for reboot". The screen will flash white and then begin jailbreaking

It is also likely you are using the wrong ipsw file. What device are you using and what's the full name of the ipsw file you're using?

I got it working. Thanks for the help guys.

I ended up using windows 7. installed itunes 8.2.0. Did a upgrade restore to iphone. Quit itunes. Then ran redsnow went into dfu on first try and worked no problems. No issues with "waiting to reboot" at all.

In OSX, itunes 8.2.1 would not go away. Id' quit and immediately it would start again to tell me phone was in recovery mode. Anyway all set now.

One more question,
Now that im JB, Is there any reason not too unlock?
