Easily Enable Tethering on 3.0 via iPhone Safari!
So if you haven't already discovered tethering is working on iPhone firmware 3.0 (even for AT&T). You can enable AT&T tethering via a simple .ipcc (download AT&T.ipcc) update via iTunes OR you can make it happen in an even easier manner via Safari on your iPhone!
BenM.at is hosting TONS of iPhone tethering configuration files for many many networks across various countries.
Simply browse to help.BenM.at/help.php via Safari on your iPhone
Select Mobileconfigs
Select Country
Select Provider
Select install
Select Install Now
Select Done
That's it, Now just browse to Settings->General->Network->Internet Tethering->On and you have tethering.
Note: at the time of this writing tethering is still working for AT&T even though they said it would not work. Here's hoping that AT&T doesn't prevent this overnight!
thx to iClarified for pointing out BenM.at

Ahh AT&T...why are they making you wait? I'm in Australia on Optus and earlier today they sent me a text saying 'iPhone OS 3.0 is out, head to Optus - Personal - FAQs: iPhone OS 3.0 Software for FAQs about MMS, Tethering and more!'
Usually we lag behind the US a bit but we seem to be ahead here

Tethering Charges?
I downloaded the program to my iPhone, but I'm curious. Are there any additional costs to tethering other then the normal iPhone $30 data through At&t?

I got this from iPA. Disabled visual voicemail, though.
EDIT: NVM. Apparently there must have been an update because VVM is working again for me!Last edited by Channan; 06-18-2009 at 01:06 AM.

This is fantastic, but has anyone figured out MMS yet? I tried to upgrade using the bundle, but it is grayed out and I can't select it. Any suggestions?

Oh Crap, not only does it work, it flies! I bluetooth tether using an AT&T Bold and I can only get half of the speed I got from this... AT BEST! Did a speedtest at Speedtest.net and got
1.78 Mbps Down
0.23 Mbps Up
that's crazy.
