My Phone: 3G 8GB iPhone running 3.0 using redsnow.

I have my MMS working flawlessly and tethering working ok, not really important to me about tethering.

    This is my issue:

NOW I DO NOT HAVE Virtual Voicemail working

Though its not a really big deal because I'd rather have MMS; but if any of your wiz's can assist me, I'd appreciated it. I have tried just about every suggestion out there to get it back, but none so far have worked.

Everybody's post say, goto general-networking-celluar network; only thing wrong with that is, I DO NOT HAVE THAT OPTION AVAILABLE to edit the APN.

If any of you know how I can fix this without losing my mms capabilities, please email me at: [email protected] .

    Thanks in advance!

    Chris

HI all! Here are my issues: no vvm and no mms. I am running a jailbroken 3g 16 g on 3.0 (redsn0w). I also want to know, since this thread has been open for a while, has anyone been charged extra for tethering. I think it's cool, and could see myself using it occasionally. However, it's not worth the extra money, if there is any, involved.

    TIA!

ETA: MMS was not working (no camera avail) before I did the benM thingie...I'm sure that makes a difference!

Not sure why your mms is not working, mine is working flawlessly, but no VVM. Are you with AT&T? If you are, then you need to make sure that you have the unlimited family texting plan on At&t in order for it to work. But since you said that you don't have the camera thing visible, then you must have done something wrong during the installation of the ipcc file; and or downloaded the wrong one.

There are so many factors in getting this right; but the one thing I can tell you is that MMS does work and VVM is diabled during that process; at least for me, using the ipcc file that I downloaded. They say that I can fix this by altering my VPN in "settings-general-celluar network data, but I do not have that option available to me.

One more question, if you go to your profile in settings-phone, does it display the new carrier setting?

on my 2G, I know tethering does not work. How do I get MMS to work using the profile sites? My 2G does not have data plan but we have unlimited SMS on a family plan.
MMS is not supported on the 2G

i am trying to trouble shoot an issue, and working backwards with things that I have done...

Has there been any documented issues regarding loss of sending or receiving SMS?

For the past week or so i have not sent or received any SMS, I just noticed it today (wondering why no one has responded to my messages... Including my wifes and I KNOW she wants to talk to me :-)

The box says that they are sent, and the sound is made... but no one receives them...

BenM.at is hosting TONS of iPhone tethering configuration files for many many networks across various countries.

Simply browse to help.BenM.at/help.php via Safari on your iPhone

    Select Mobileconfigs

    Select Country

    Select Provider

    Select install

    Select Install Now

    Select Done

That's it, Now just browse to Settings->General->Network->Internet Tethering->On and you have tethering.

Note: at the time of this writing tethering is still working for AT&T even though they said it would not work. Here's hoping that AT&T doesn't prevent this overnight!

thx to iClarified for pointing out BenM.at
I enable tethering on my phone with this method and I was able to access internet on my computer thru my iPhone but it works only one time, right after I unplug my phone from my PC the tethering in my network setting is gone.

I figured it out how to enable it again. Thanx.

Thanks so much, tethering works great to my "snapple" (what my son calls my Dell Mini 9 Hacintosh) Don't think I have MMS as I don't see a new camera icon anywhere. VPN is "Not Configured" and no Cellular Data Network.

    Default Changing countries

Got everything working without a hitch for tethering but had a question: I'm going to Italy next week - when I download the file for Italy will it overwrite my US ATT one or will it just add it to a collection of tethering files?
    Cheers!

Question I am getting the following error
    Restricted URL
    This URL wasn't loaded:
    prefs:root+General&path+managedConfigurationList/InstallRequested&sender+com.apple.mobilesafari.
I followed the directions on page one and when I hit the AT&T that error happens. Does anyone know how to fix or what to do. Thanks

    Default Restriced URL

    I had the same problem

I had some apps hidden which was the issue. Unhide all apps and it should work.

Does any one know if this still works if I am on OS 3.0.1? When I try and download it gives me a pop up that says "Invalid profile Profile format not recognized" Also if this no longer works what is the best way to get tethering?

    Thanks
