I'm on AT&T, so no need for the unlock. Followed directions, restored from the 3.0 file and get this screen when I'm almost done. What happened and what do I do?

iTunes recognizes the iPhone but I get the following message: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out."

The phone now is only usable for emergency calls. Any thoughts?

edit: the phone screen is the USB plug asking for iTunes connection.

Just upgraded my 4gb unlocked/jailbroken 2G iphone to 3.0, unlock is STILL THERE YAY

But how did you get the activation bit sorted out? I don't care about jailbreak and my carrier is now in the supported list - Vodafone India - so I won't need to unlock either.

Seems like apple is getting slammed with 3.0 device activations. My iTunes has tried 3 times to activate my phone since the upgrade and keeps timing out.

there is a slight difference in the 3.0 gm and the official release.
so far my messages app is a little different. in the GM i had a little subject header before the message window, now it's gone!
my caps lock won't work when trying to put my password in the wifi settings, but is working ok in all the other apps. mail, sms, safari etc.

no biggie, but there are differences

When typing an Event in the Calendar does not allow you to type in landscape mode... ******** on it allowing you to type in landscape everywhere...
