This is the Official release file name - iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

You will notice it's the same 7A341 as the 3.0 GM.

Woo! It seems to have improved the signal on the 2g as well. I'm getting at least 1 bar all over my apartment, where before I had "no service"

People should really READ before posting the same questions over and over. Yes, 3.0 gm is the EXACT same firmware as what apple released today. Yes, if you update bye bye jailbreak and/or unlock. I guess it's true there ARE stupid questions AND stupid people.

I am running this one unlocked on my 1st Gen iPhone (on a different carrier), just shift upgraded from a 2.2.1 pawned/unlocked version. Lost me cydia stuff though.....

So I understand that the unlock tool Ultrasn0w will not be available until friday but what about the Jailbreak. The dev website indicates "after the release of official 3.0".

Are they common for releasing the same day as the firmware release or should we expect the jailbreak to come on friday with the unlock tool?

1) Will I lose data if I update?
It's been hella long since I last synced my phone.
(I am at work and I sync at home)

2) Will I lose my Unlock?

Why would you lose 500MB of space?

because if you don't restore to clear all of your jailbreak data, it just stays there, inaccessible, taking up space.

There is no jailbreak yet, if you have T-mobile or any other SIM Card wait into friday to update to 3.0 if you can read sign off and sign back on to see if your brain can get this message.
