Ok try going back to itunes 7.7 and when u go back make sure u unintall apple upgrade and apple mobile support. then put 2.2 on your phone first.

IF YOU ARE ON PREPAID!!!!!
do not update to 3.0 until it is fully jailbroken and sbsettings is out.
otherwise you wont be able to turn off EDGE and you will be draining your account in about 12 minutes.

i wasnt that stupid, but a friend was. luckily it was a 2g so he could downgrade.
