I updated my iphone's firmware last night to the 3.0. Everything seems to look and work exactly as it was mentioned, however, I can't seem to find that damn MMS feature. I have an iphone 3G and that little picture camera icon next to the message box in the SMS app is not even showing on my phone. Is there something I need to do in order to get it on there?

i used the restore function on my unlocked 2G

now its is locked

iTunes says only compatible sim can be activate!!!!!

For all of those who are trying to downgrade from 3.0 because you ended up losing your unlock, one thing that seems to be missing from most online instructions is this:

In addition to rolling your uninstalling itunes and rolling it back to 7.7, I was only able to get past the errors (1600, 1602, 20, etc.) was by also uninstalling "Apple Mobile Device Support" before do the install of the older itunes.

When you click the little progress dot when playing a song on your iPhone, if you pull your finger down the scrubbing speed decreases and up will increase.

Like clerkdante stated iTune 7.7 is the an option to downgrade your 2G 3.0 to 2.2. . . I did the unthinkable and was stuck receiving call and texts behind the emergency screen. . . I follow clerkdante's advice and then installed iTunes 8.02 and upgraded back to 2.2.1. . .after all this, I'll definately wait for the complete Jailbreak Quickpwn from the Dev-Team.

rolled back to 2.2.1 from 3.0 on my 1st gen iphone.

this is what i did.

uninstalled everything related to apple,

did a fresh install of itunes 8.1.
started iphone in DFU mode.
restored using iphone firmware 2.2.1
used quickpwn.
and yay!!

another other method of downgrading is using itunes 7.7 and restore to 2.2 if having trouble with 8.1 (i definately was). but now I am back at 2.2.1 and fully functional patiently awaiting ultasnow. . . .

Hi Guys

I have Ist gen iphone, that was Pwned, all I did was download the ipsw file (New v3 firmware) to my desktop, and in Itunes, I hit ALT+UPDATE, navigated to the file on the desktop, and software and itunes did its thing and bingo. All working apart from the reported issues like YouTube etc.

OK, I read the entire thread in the past 2 days. I apologize to those of you that flamed me for asking stupid questions. I am patiently waiting for UltraSn0w to properly upgrade.

I have seen the nightmare problems and the ******** and moaning about the dev-team being slow...and I now understand why some of you get so frustrated.

This is FREE...The DEV-TEAM is doing this GRATIS...donate to them and help them along! Be patient, and stop whining. Once again, I apologize for my earlier ignorance. I am happy with my jailbroken 2.2.1 for now...

Cause I was gettin error 20 when i had it in restore and not DFU.
