The delivery date dropping off the UPS tracking update always happens with packages coming into AK. The shipment clears US Customs and is temporarily out of UPS control until they release the shipment. It has nothing to do with Apple or a release date.

The arrival date will reappear after UPS gets it back in their control and rescans it.

Who got your panties all bunched up?! There have not been any "liars" on this thread. As far as I can tell, everyone has posted what the date on UPS tracking system said. Mine said the 17th, now it does not say any date. Does that make me a liar?

My order left Alaska at 6:52pm ET. Arrival date is back too. Says delivery on 6/18.

the lady from apple told me yesterday that any pre-purchases would be delivered on 06/19/09 but reserved ones could ship after 06/19/09

Mine changed briefly to exception as well. That apparently is just a U.S. Customs thing. It now is back to saying I'll get it tomorrow. Woohoo!
