Apple are not only including video and compass in the 3G because of "Hardware Limitations" it's because they've not brought out an appealing phone for existing 3G users to upgrade to and want people to believe that so they buy their overpriced 3GS. What they have done will just see more people jailbreak their phone for cycorder etc.
