AT&T Confirms MMS Pricing, iPhone 3G S Shipping

AT&T has confirmed that iPhone MMS is included with the iPhone bundle for absolutely no extra cost. When AT&T works out their whole mess with enabling MMS for iPhone accounts later this summer it will just work for folks running 3.0 firmware (due tomorrow). For once AT&T is providing more features without more money!
The confirmation comes via an AT&T .pdf which covers many facts of iPhone 3G S launch week. You can find where they say that MMS will be no extra charge on page two
The iPhone 3G S is just three days away, and those that pre-ordered have started receiving notifications that their iPhone has been shipped. If you pre-ordered start watching for an email telling you that your iPhone 3G S has been shipped complete with tracking number.Later this summer, as part of the 3.0 software, AT&T will make multimedia messaging (MMS) available at no extra cost to customers with a text messaging bundle
Apple has promised that Pre-orders will make it to customers on June 19th, a relief to many that remember the order fiascos of years past where ordered iPhones often didn't show up for weeks, or even a month after ordering.

This is good news... although I really didn't expect to see an additional price for MMS... no other company is charging additional fees on top of text pricing as far as I know.

sms and mms are one in the same. AT&T blocks you from accessing WAP through your iphone, that is why MMS dont work.
If it wasnt for that then it would work.
There is no MMS Block feature on anyone w/ an iphone's account.
The internet was provisioned differently is what it is.
So I doubt AT&T would be able to split SMS and MMS without a lot of headaches.

Do you think that since I am on a family plan with unlimited family text that'll cause MMS to automatically work? Or do you think I'll need to call in and remove that stupid feature stopping me from getting the messages?

I have read on other iPhone blogs where a MMS message will cost you 4 SMS. So if you dont have unlimited then you cut your messages down. Im not sure if this is true...just what I read..which makes sense since a MMS contaims more information. The way it read is that an MMS has to be broken up into small fragments to send correctly through the SMS channel. Basically taking up the same space that 4 SMS would take...Does anyone have any more information about this?

For real. Did anyone actually expect AT&T to charge an additional feel on top of the $20 or $30 a month you pay for messaging?
Unless this means MMS won't cost anything extra if you have ANY text bundle or whatever (ex. $5/month for 200 texts) and you get unlimited MMS for free...which I highly doubt.Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?

well im on a family plan and i have MMS working without calling!
all i had to do it log into att.com and changed my phone to an LG shine, and at the same time change the sim card to a old LG shine that i had laying around. Of the bat i couldnt make any mms or log onto the internet (myMEdia) Then i made some calls and some txt and some more usage and then tired loging onto the internet it worked, then i sent a mms to my self and it word. After that i put back my sim back to my iphone and mms works now, but i did do the modified ATT.ipcc file

Ok first post ever so take it easy, I'm running the final 3.0 and when I'm texting there is no option to send a photo. Is that because AT&T is not ready for iPhones to be able to Use the mms feature? And also, is apple going to release another firmware so that option is available to send mms? Cause I doubt wakng up one day and it being there with out having to install software is unlikely. Be kind rewind.
