Hey Meizu... is that an iPhone?
The new Meizu MiniOne M8 looks surprisingly iPhone-ish in interface... and design. The touch screen phone from Meizu is debuting soon, and is sure to get Meizu a letter and a phone call from Cupertino.

This is insane. Why do they have to copy? The LEAST they can do is take what is there, improve on it, then change the design a little to at least TRY and fool us.

What lawsuit? there is no international copyrights between US and China. this is the same company that is selling iPods for half the price.

Lawsuit?? Who you going to sue?? Where are you going to take your case? You're fighting against a company in Communist China that probably has some level of governmental support.
Good luck with that.
What did Apple think when it set up manufacturing in Shenzen? That the locals were going to abide by US copyright restrictions?
Sure, Apple will ***** and moan and might even have success in preventing their import here. But so what? The rest of the world will still buy them even if they are cheap crappy knockoffs.

"who you going to sue, fight against a government" it's simple WTO.
They could sell them in China no problem but outside of there they would have issues.I don't drink kool-Aid, I don't join cults.
This is why I break out in cold sweat going to Apple retail store.

It could be exactly like the iPhone for $200 less, but who gives a rats ***. China rips off the design of every car maker in america, but guess what, we dont buy their chit.

Please make the distinction between Taiwanese and Chinese manufacturers.
They abide by completely different principles.
Taiwan = HTC + Asus + BenQ + Acer
China = Meizu + Lenovo + (many factories for bootlegging)
Taiwanese people DO NOT bootleg things like the Chinese do, they even have a well established platform for legal music distribution.
For crying out loud they even have different governments.Best Regards

The WTO? Are you freaking serious? Who abides by their ruling?? How do they enforce their verdicts??
Hell, all you have to do is look at the US vs. Canada softwood lawsuit to know that the WTO is just another useless extragovermental body full of political timeservers that do absolutely nothing.
Laws are made for the law-abiding, no one else.

Check out your iPhone. "Designed by Apple in California" BUT "Assembled in China".

And I bet most of the parts inside are also made there. Unfortunately we import way too much of there crap but thats what our society is used to; cheaper larbor = cheaper products for US customers.
